Which villains do you think the dining locations would be themed after? I somehow doubt they would build a Skinner's Frozen Foods stand...
Gaston’s Tavern would have been the perfect choice, but obviously that is already used. They will probably use Evil Queen and call it “The Poisoned Apple” or something even though that does not quite make sense. Maybe the Snuggly Duckling although it probably won’t fit the vibe they are going for.

Dark ride could be using Shanghai Pirates system with the story focusing on some kind of a fight between Maleficent and Ursula or any other pair, I just think those 2 are the best and most iconic. Many possibilities with them casting spells at each other, tentacles, dragon etc.
I would love to see them clone that and tweak it for villains but its probably not in the budget and could you imagine how long it would take them to build it in MK?

A 5th gate won't happen any time soon, if ever. Each park would need at least 15-20 attractions each before each park reaches it's ride capacity. Not including shows.

DHS needs 3-4 more projects (Monsters, Animation Courtyard, Echo Lake + 1 More?) before it's a "full park".
EPCOT needs 2 more countries with rides, a few added rides to existing countries (Like Remy) and a few pavilion revamps (Mission Space, Imagination, Wonders of Life)
MK has room for at least 1 or 2 more expansions in adventureland and beyond and actually using some of the closed building.
AK has room for at least 3 new areas (Like a Lion King area and somewhere between the park and conservation station) and more revamps (like Kali) and expansions in Pandora. Also a night time show.

I don't believe a 5th gate gets people to stay longer and spend more money. If most people go for 5-7 days with 3-5 park tickets does that get people to buy more hoppers? Is having people go to 5 parks instead of four parks with an extra MK day make more money for the company?

I just don't know what a 5th gate gets TWDC.

It would be a losing proposition at this point with all the parks needing more attractions...the cost of building an all new park from the ground up and the amount of labor to run that park would not make it worthwhile. They have 4 parks all with room for expansion...most with shuttered attractions awaiting replacement and expansion.... They really need to finish out the parks they have before even thinking about something else.....Unless of course they went the Fantasy Springs route and created a new bespoke park with an astronomical daily price tag.... but even then I think they would have to do it like they did Fantasy Springs and attach it to another park... Maybe that is what they have in mind for the Villains section... Separate ticket, it's own hotel, more intimate super high tech experiences.... Actually when you think about it, it seems almost like they are setting up for this with the loss of the ROA and TSI... a great deal more property to play with and an additional ticket to fund it....

maybe the term people are actually look for is “fantasyland dark ride”?
That's the type I always considered to be a true dark ride, those classic little bus bar rides. but I know the term has expanded a lot. I still don't consider rat or mickey railway in that category, but I know many do and I guess Disney does as well.

Was looking up the definition and key elements seem to be:
- enclosed environment
- guided vehicles
- themed scenes
- special effects

So why I think a coaster (Guardians) isn't a dark ride since gravity is used to move the vehicles through the space ... But something like Rat or MMRR are because you are guided to the specific things to see

I don't see why it wouldn't be. It does park you in front of a screen a few times, but those screens aren't used as a replacement for physical set pieces, nor do they turn the ride into a simulator.
Not that I agree with it... but 2 reasons people might be against it.

1) Stops in front of scenes, some of which are just screens (where is the line between this a COP)
2) I believe part of it is just gravity pulling you down towards the next seen so it's not always completely "guided" (where is the line between this, 7D, and GotG)
