It it really that divisive in the real world though? I’ve never witnessed any kind of disruption from guests in person.

It can happen, but no, does not happen every showing. Think about how many times a day the show happens, and multiply that by the number of days in a year. It's entirely possible for someone not to have witnessed that, especially if they don't visit often.

I've seen the show many times with various current presidents. Only twice did anyone make a comment or act out and the one time was back when George W Bush was president (for those who think this is a recent phenomenon).

Right, just now we have much more active social media and no one posts "just watch the Hall of Presidents and nothing happened" - it is just going to be when the disruptions happen that people share about it, so it appears to be a more regular thing

I’ve never seen it and I’ve watched it several times with all of the presidents.

Honestly the worst guest behavior I’ve seen recently was at muppets when a young “adult” made fun of the CM who was introducing the show. So yeah…. People like that will make fun of robot president’s too - but it’s not the fault of the President (the hall is filled with presidents of all political views…. Which is kinda the point) it’s the fault of guests who can’t behave.

Funny how people are talking about this attraction not being controversial and yet…lol.

I’m against it being closed right now because I feel the MK has enough attractions down.

Also Disney seems to moving from making any political statements so I don’t believe TDO has any plans to get rid of it.

Heck, people are idiots at Epcot during Snack and Buzz Festival; they don't need an attraction to get stupid.

There are worse things to have in that space than a way to teach our students about the history of our presidents. Personally I think that a little controversy is well worth it to have not only an attraction that Walt would have wanted be at the park, but one that is actively educational when the company seems to be very much interested in denying all but the most surface level of educational attractions in the parks.

Plus, with so many international visitors at WDW, Moments with Lincoln works well in California but feels less relevant at Disney World.
I will speak as an international visitor. I visited HoP only one time in 2007 and have never had a desire to go back. I thought it was dull. I chalked it up to not being American and not being moved by the overly patriotic tone. But if Americans like it, I obviously have no issue with it being there. I just don't plan to go back to it. And I actually do follow and enjoy American politics.

I think the over the top ones reactions are rare and most of those make the news. It’s more common to hear the occasional low key scoff, laugh, or witty comment during the roll call if someone dosnt like the one just announced. Usually never any big deal, typical people stuff.

I once heard someone scoff when the show mentioned John Tyler - I wonder if the guy has beef with Tyler's living grandson?

Thats the thing, this attraction is not really that educational. The main president part just lifts off the presidents names in order. Theres not really any reason anyone needs to know this nor is any kid remembering that. This is the most surface level of surface level "educational" attractions. Journey of Water or Living with the Land are better at actually educating and exploring concepts.

I imagine it is more enjoyable viewed from a distance.
