Witchcraft , black magic in movies make money.
To be honest, I would kind of like that to become part of official Disney lore.

"In 1938, Walt Disney sold his soul to the devil and 'Disney's folly' became 'Disney's triumph' when Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs was released to great critical and commercial acclaim. Thus began a rich Disney tradition of dabbling in black magic that continues to this day."

Sounds like an internet creepypasta.

I have been thinking about this Abu Dhabi thing.

IF they proceed with it, because let’s face it, it could have been just a stunt for the earnings report, but for the sake of argument, let’s say they proceed.

1. It’s using NONE if their money. I suspect Disney will use some of their Imagineering resources; I presume Disney charges for that (and makes money on that too).

2. In only brings IN money to TWDC from outside, not moving money within the company like Disney+

3. Similar to the early Worlds fair work and the later China work Disney did, they are able to design and build new attractions at no cost and bring them to their other parks, like TRON (love that ride) I am hoping they can make a better deal here and the new rides made for Abu Dhabi are allowed to be cloned sooner rather than later.

Let’s see what happens.

If Disney isn’t paying then why would Miral allow them to clone brand new rides?

They can build this modern Disney park and Dubai but all we get at Epcot is a new Store, restaurant, play area, event center and a planter to replace the Fountain of Nations? Really? Celestial park was clear as day in their concept art and those plans were made well before demolition even began on Innoventions how stupid can they get?

Abu Dhabi, not Dubai.

But I don’t think this new park is being built using Disney’s money.

I realise that but the latest cloned rides at WDW were Remy and Tron. Both took 7 years, so the precedent seems to have been set.
Soarin’ Around the World opened the day after Shanghai Disneyland opened.

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train opened before Shanghai Disneyland.

Exclusivity is not a default. It was something started with the three land expansion of Hong Kong Disneyland as part of making up for the small build out and moving forward with Shanghai Disneyland.

Didn’t exclusivity begin with Paris? And to clarify I was refering about rides being cloned for WDW.

It does seem though that when rides or attractions open in one country there has been an exclusivity clause in place.
Obviously not between Anaheim and Orlando.

And overlays don’t really count imo.

The matter of cloned rides will likely be handled on a “case by case” basis. For example, Disney might offer a project to the Paris resorts, both resorts in China, and Tokyo in order to reduce costs. In the case of Tokyo, exclusivity would depend on Oriental Land. If they want something 100% exclusive forever (like DisneySprings, Journey to the Center of the Earth, Beauty & The Beast), I assume the price would be higher—somewhat cheaper if the exclusivity is limited to a certain number of years, etc. The same will likely happen in Abu Dhabi. Disney will make a million proposals to Miral, and they will choose based on their preferences and budget. They will likely have some top rides that are permanently exclusive, others that are exclusive for a limited time, and some that are clones from other resorts.

It started with Hong Kong Disneyland. That’s why it was even publicly announced because it was such a unique situation that helped ease concerns about how Disney was handling the park.

Seven Dwarfs Mine Train was co-developed between Magic Kingdom and Shanghai Disneyland. That’s the way you see clones come online the fastest. TRON also would have opened sooner if Magic Kingdom had agreed to be part of its development as was originally considered. It doesn’t matter which print is between.

TRON and Ratatouille were both announced for Walt Disney World shortly after the decision had been made to bring them to Walt Disney World. There was no long term plan for them that was waiting for the clock to count down otherwise they could have started design sooner (see Toy Story Land at Shanghai Disneyland). They were built because Disney realized Walt Disney World needed some capacity and they were something they could grab and do.

Yea, I have no idea what's in the licensing agreement, my hope was the attractions designed and developed by Disney for Abu Dhabi could be cloned for other parks sooner rather than later.
