The party that would hire The PBSO and four current/former Dapper Dans to perform would be one I'd gladly pay to attend...

My question is, do we even think there's a concerted effort from Disney to get rid of nightlife past about midnight or so? Or is there a more likely explanation in the fact that they just don't care enough to invest in it or find tenants who will support it...
I think it's both. You can't be up at 7am, in a park by 8am spending money if you don't go to bed early.

It's also high margin money going to a third party. Given the expansion of the offering, I think we would be foolish to not think Disney sees alcohol as a major revenue driver. Funneling more of that to Disney-owned properties (or third parties willing to pay the very high rent prices to cover that revenue transfer) has to be part of this overall equation.

This one is probably more mutual with the Jellyrolls team, as I think Disney Springs and the like also involves the staffing requirements for later night entertainment offerings.

Alcohol sales has the highest margins second only to the king (money for nothing) LL sales.
Third I am guessing is merch.
I am guessing the lowest margin is food. (Way too much material and labor costs before the product gets to the customer)

It's about time, I've always thought this place has been a waste of space. The land could be used for a World of Disney, with 3 floors. Themed to the boardwalk of course.
Feels like Boardwalk is a very tricky location for Disney to sort out.

Sure they could make a grand World of Disney or a resturant that draw crowds - but do they want to draw massive crowds to this area?

Maybe they can stick the Gingerbread display here.

Id agree its very tricky...getting there by car is nearly impossible due to parking...so its relying on Epcot/HS guests and nearby hotels.

As far as I can tell, Disney have to keep that as part of the terms of the Swan & Dolphin.

But they should make much better use of it, for sure.
I have wondered if Disney plans to put in a restaurant with a jazz / dance club in the big river and Jellyrolls space to satisfy the dance club requirement and free up that space.
