This is such a funny comment as it is coming from a Moth!Yeah, that's why I'm not drinking the crushed bug flavored Kool-Aid. I just think this is the weirdest attraction to die on a hill for honestly.

Y'all forgetting that Tough to Be a Bug and surrounding Bug's Life kiddie rides were removed from DCA?
No surprise that Bug's Life is now a moribund IP for the parks.
With ITTBAG and Muppets 3D closing, is Star Tours the only 3D screen ride remaining? Flight of Passage is 4D and it a new gen ride so I'll exclude that.

“Winter 2025”. That’s all that has been said so far.Do we know when this expected to open?
Just going to point out again that Bug's Life to me in the same problem as Zootopia. It's a human movie just told with animals. What happens in that movie is a relatively simple dictator story with the young "inventor bug" rising up and saving the whole colony... that isn't how animals work.Yeah, but unlike DCA, they once had a natural home at Animal Kingdom, seeing as how vital insects and arachnids are to the rest of life on earth.
But that was back when thesis statements actually mattered.
“Welcome to a kingdom of animals… real, ancient, and imagined: a kingdom ruled by lions, dinosaurs, and dragons; a kingdom of balance, harmony, and survival; a kingdom we enter to share in the wonder, gaze at the beauty, thrill at the drama, and learn.” - Michael Eisner
“Nah, here’s a limited edition Encanto popcorn bucket shaped like the muscle woman’s Titanic. Member the muscle woman’s Titanic song? Eat up, piggy. And you better not forget the other souvenirs.” - Bob Iger

And now we found the problem with being super super specific about what animals "fit"? You go on a slippery slope quite quickly. The Bugs make a circus, invent giant flying bird contraptions, have bars, etc. It's just a more modern vs less modern take on an "animal" world. Jungle Book fits incredibly well as it explores mankinds relation with humans from the animals perspective BUT the animals don't usually act "all animal" between King Louie, the elephants, etc.I get that but do think it is a little different. The Ants still act like ants and live in the habitat of ants
They aren't wearing clothes and living in buildings and going to the DMV, etc
And if a Bug's Life doesn't fit then the Lion King doesn't either

Also the bugs in bugs life DO sometimes where "human-like" things. Honestly I have no problem with Zootopia being here. I don't think an entire land fit in AK but a show that could be about how the different animals in Zootopia interact with each other or smth could work well in its favor.
Then let’s just air on the safe side and not shove movies into the park. And now we found the problem with being super super specific about what animals "fit"? Genie is out of the bottle on that one. When the other guys are using super popular IP and you spent $80 billion dollars to acquire IP, and rethemes of original attractions into IP attractions do very well, it makes no real business sense to not include IP. The "safe side" is always going to be IP. Look at how much CBMJ improved in ratings after putting in IP, Guardians (less of a fair comparison) but you cannot tell me that it would have done nearly as well as the generic "Big Bang Coaster" that was originally planned for Epcot. Then let’s just air on the safe side and not shove movies into the park.
It's funny because they're using no IP from that $80 billion dollar acquisition in Florida.Genie is out of the bottle on that one. Well yeah, its not going to be an instant thing. It happened in 2019, then COVID happened. Then some of the big franchises they want to use are under other parks rights for now. I think they don't want to overwhelm too much with a specific companies IP (although I feel like we've gotten a little Pixar heavy rn in WDW)It's funny because they're using no IP from that $80 billion dollar acquisition in Florida.
Again, from one of the two directors of Zootopia 2:Do we know when this expected to open?
Yikes, thought this would be a 2-3 month job.“Winter 2025”. That’s all that has been said so far.

It’s pretty simple. First, do the animals look naturalistic and at least sometimes canonically behave that way too? Second, are they being used in Animal Kingdom in such a way that emphasizes their nature rather than their human-adjacent qualities? You go on a slippery slope quite quickly.
