One of those is a sponsor ride, one of those is (sorta) divisive and the last one is likely going to be a win.

Updates aren't indicative of anything. MV-3D got updates before they pulled the plug.
Eh true. Maybe im overblowing things.

I just feel like updates like this that are BIG enough changes, like a new track, new targets and scenes, or a whole new show, and that get ANNOUCEMENTS at least makes a ride safe for a while.

All about the scale. Muppetvision at the end of the day, was just seats and wall projections. Didn’t get a parks blog article. Buzz Did. They’re treating it like an announcement.

And they are doing quite a BIT to buzz.

Updates to attractions most often mean that the attraction will at least last another couple years. Of course the attraction depends on the size of the update. If they added only new projections then that would suggest that the ride doesn’t have much life in it.

This update is a good indicator that Buzz is not going anywhere in the next couple of years which can either be a good or bad thing in the future.

Honestly, if they had an idea for a new Tomorrowland, I don’t see it. There are way too many conflicting themes.

You have Tron conflicting with the speedway, you have Buzz conflicting with Carousel of Progress, and you have laugh floor conflicting with everything.

I think laugh floor won’t be long for this world and will soon be replaced, with what, I have no idea. I hope Disney figures out a central theme for this land since I can’t think of one other than, technology???

As a big fan of both the character and the ride, this is some of the best park news in a long time for me. Not only does Disney now have my full support for filling in the river and tearing out Muppet-Vision, but if Bob Iger ever needs me to get rid of a body or something, I'll do what I can.

Tomorrowland’s theme is just sci fi and sci fi adjacent IP now.

Why the concern for this being "too easy."

Y'all wanna make sure a child will always wind up in the lowest tier?

What should be done is that the lowest scoring targets should be raised, and the highest scoring targets lowered. That should put most players, including children, in the mid- to high tier scores. This would make adult sharp shooters have to work hard for top tier.

It doesn't need to be refurbished; it needs to be replaced with something halfway decent.

I personally dislike this announcement because if they're going to spend this kind of money on the attraction then it's going to stay in Tomorrowland for a long time.

That said, if they are (unfortunately) going to keep it, it is good that they're spending money to update it.

If this is the sort of thing the mythical billions they announced are going to be for, I approve. They need to do more to plus attractions that are getting a bit long in the tooth but still popular enough to keep around. Hopefully it wont be closed too long, it's going to suck if you're visiting later this year and you've got Buzz, Muppets, R&R, BTMR, etc all closed. Wasn't Haunted Mansion due to go down at some point soon too for a random minor unwanted update from someone who's obsessed with tweaking it constantly?

I think Tomorrowland falls under a very vague "The Future That Never Was And Always Will Be" theme

I think the next TL refresh will be very mid-century and clean.

I would rather them figure out a replacement for Stitch than have them get rid of Laugh Floor. Let's get that space back first, then figure out what can replace Laugh Floor. It still brings in a lot of people and is a good capacity booster.

Stitch is such a specific space, what CAN they even put in in there that’s somewhat diff? I mean it’s specific circular theatres, peoplemover above it and there’s probably asbestos inside. What can they realistically do with the space that isn’t similar to what has been done before?

I'd rather Buzz, who mostly fits Tomorrowland to stay put than shove something else here.

True, but MV3D's updates were fairly minor. Country Bears, BTMR, and this are much more expansive and fit into the category of overhauls rather than just updates.

I feel like we are now getting a bunch of the plussing that was planned for the 50th before COVID and Chapek borked that whole budget... Josh at least seems to be righting the ship when it comes to maintenance and plussing attractions. It's a huge ship to right, so it's going to take time.

Now, if we get an announcement that Everest is going down to fix the Yeti......

This is exactly the sort of thing they need to be doing at WDW more often. Part of the reason DL feels much fresher is that they seem to continually update and plus attractions, whereas at WDW they just open them and run them into the ground.

As for the Buzz theme, I will sheepishly admit that I kind of like the attraction and think it more or less fits the land as it is at the moment with its vague sci-fi theme. What does not fit is the very tacky exterior. Even just cleaning it up to be more like the Paris exterior would be an improvement that wouldn't stick out so much.
