I won’t pretend I know how the process works. Just thought it was reasonable assumption that the head of imagineering would checking in on the project from time to time and offer suggestions. Then again not sure the optics of the old white guy coming to save the day was good for this project.
There’s a point where you’re past being able to do much.

Having to follow “suggestions” from people not actively involved, too far into the process, is a major problem with Disney and part of their high costs.

That sounds logical and I don’t disagree. I just think it probably would have been a good idea here considering the high stakes of this project and how easy/ cheap I think some of the fixes could have been.

I guess the bigger question is why wasnt the head of imagineering more actively involved in such a high stakes project?

With all the “oh Indy is gonna get cut” and “inflation is gonna cause cars and Villians to get budget cut and it’ll be Epcot overhaul all over again!” talk as of late, and the “Disney doesn’t care about Walt”, to me it seems like some people Almost WANT all the new things to be bad. I’m sure there are some people with genuine concern for the future of the parks, heck, I do too! But I feel like some people are just using it so they can grift. Idk, that’s just me.

I would highly recommend the book boundless realm that explains how haunted mansion is actually set in the 19th century.
I'm familiar with HM's setting. It's the distant placement of Sleepy Hollow that I found amusing. It is, as you point out, at the opposite end of LS!

Not at all. The DAK work will not be bad. It will be an improvement to the park visually.

Muppets to Monsters will have all the charm of San Fransokyo I’m sure (that’s not a compliment). In my opinion, nobody should be happy about that change.

The cars concept is the biggest question. I’m personally 100% against any idea that gets rid of the riverboat - that was something Walt personally wanted and was part of the concept of the original Disney parks from the earliest concept drawings.

However….. the end result has the chance to be nice visually with enough rockwork, landscape, and waterfalls.

Okay, to get back on topic, does anyone know about that 2nd ride at all? Or a system even? I don't think anything has been mentioned but I'm somewhat intrigued. We need more small ticket rides.

It looks like a modern version of a whip ride to me... https://www.dorneypark.com/rides-experiences/whip

I guess.....sort of funny....but why are they digging a basement? in a National park?
The Mater’s Junkyard Jamboree / Alien Swirling Saucer ride system requires a basement. That’s where all of the ride mechanics reside. They’d be building it in an area that was part of the water management that let them build Magic Kingdom in the first place on a bunch of muck…

got ya! well with it being in a national park-type environment with tons of rockwork and water features, they could create a raised topography to allow for a basement mechanical vault... The current elevation of Frontierland is above the muck level...

Why would IAAPA want projects to be cut? Yesterday members in North America received an email from the organization expressing concern about a decline in industry business.
