DHS Monster Inc Land Coming to Disney's Hollywood Studios

Do you foresee theme adding another attraction to the land? Per the latest concept art it looks as though they killed any chances of a playground. Still feel like they should add something else but space is limited.
Nah, I think they're maximizing the usage of the space here. A coaster, show, along with the other stuff is perfect. I'd love a dark ride but, I think it's good.

They could swap some things around. Star Tours to GE.

Replacing Star Tours eventually: Monsters, Inc. Mike & Sulley to the Rescue!
I’d rather see Star Tours folded into whatever Echo Lake becomes. I don’t think Monsters necessarily needs multiple rides. Make Star Tours an Incredibles attraction and fold it into a larger Superhero land for instance.

I just hate that ride at DCA is likely going to be wasted. Would have been to great to re-purpose it somewhere else.

I'm willing to bet we get a Tomorrowland re-do in the early 2030s after this round of investment is done. Thats where we'll see Animation Courtyard stuff as well.

Well that's the interesting part. The live action films mainly exist to prop up the IP versus be films of their own. See how after B&B LA came out, Tokyo got their ride? After TLM LA came out they're redoing the show at DHS? TLK getting it's 30 year long streak of no rides broken after the live action movie made a billion and on the heels of Mufasa coming out?

Disney sees the remakes as vehicles to make the IPs relevant, but they're aware the real star are the animated films. I'm not saying "They're gonna use the LA Stitch design for something in WDW" but more "the remake is gonna make so much cash and show Disney they can figure out NEW ways to milk an alien!".
This is a Chapek concept, just like the Disney Vault. One worked a lot better than the other.

For me I think since Monsters Inc land is getting not just a ride but also a show (plus restaurants and shops) I think it's fine there's not a second ride. Plus they can always add one in the future in whatever land/area replaces StarTours and Backlot Express. (Personally want either expanded Monsters Inc, or another mini-land (personally would want Incredibles or BigHero6))

News on closures:

To make way for the monsters, the Grand Avenue area will begin a phase closing in May, with the last day to dine at Melrose’s Ristorante Italiano on May 10. Following that, Muppet*Vision 3D and PizzeRizzo will close, with the last day to experience both locations on June 7.

They gave the Dinosaur the whole year and told us of their plans to retheme the land over a year ago yet they didn't tell us about Muppets until 6 months beforehand? It's still gross they didn't just tell us at D23 what this was replacing, at least this is more notice than what Six Flags gave King Da Kah... which was nothing.
