@TheOriginalTiki - UK Pavilion - Clock Cleaners
When I read your ride title, for some reason I thought of that Nickelodeon movie Clockstoppers in the early 2000s.
Childhood films aside, I thought this type of design was an excellent inclusion for World Showcase as a whole. While the design and spacing of the attraction I'll get into later on in the review, I think the general premise of adding a family friendly roller coaster to Epcot is something that the park could benefit from.
First off, I think the inclusion of Big Ben was a great add-on to the UK pavilion. I think it would be a good counterpart to St. Mark's Campanile across the World Showcase Lagoon in Italy. With that said, my two complaints about it are regarding its size and location. For size, you said it would be 120 feet tall. Just for comparison sake, the Eiffel Tower in the France Pavilion, right next door, is 69 feet tall, and St. Mark's Campanile is 83 feet tall, which I believe is the tallest (if not one of the tallest) structures in all of World Showcase. 120 feet would dwarf all the other icons in each pavilion, which could be a drawback to the design as a whole. In regards to location, it was never specifically stated where the attraction would be located in the pavilion. I'm assuming it would be located behind where the British Revolution plays, seeing as there is some empty space back there.
I really like the aesthetic of the tower as a whole though. The bell ringing, etc. It really brings a different vibe to the pavilion, in a good way. I also enjoyed how you incorporated the history of the people who scaled such heights to clean and maintain historic icons, though I probably would have kept it to British (or UK in general) history, seeing as looking at the Golden Gate Bridge and such would take me out of the European vibe.
As for the ride itself, that 90 degree vertical climb looks intense! And the spinning as well. Is there a height restriction on this ride? If it's 48 inches like Primeval Whirl, that may take the family friendly aspect away from it a tad. But for me as a thrill seeker, it would be pretty cool to ride! As I was reading, it kinda reminded me of a more detailed, less intense version of this coaster coming to Orlando called Skyscraper, just because of the in and out aspect of a tall vertical structure.
Overall, I think you were definitely on the right creative track here. A few minor things I feel you could have improved or clarified, but a very solid project nonetheless.
@orlando678- Kow Siwang - The Red Dragon
This was really interesting. I much enjoyed how you tied it in with a past attraction in The Creator Games. However, for me, I think Asia is already filled with attractions, especially since in this competition, JttCotE was moved to the east side of Animal Kingdom, and we already have the Yangtze River Expedition as well as Expedition Everest. But getting into the attraction itself, I actually enjoyed how you incorporated the Chinese aspect of Asian culture into this attraction, blending in with Yangtze and drifting from the focus on the Himalayan/Nepal settings.
I'm a bit questionable on the location not only because of other popular attraction but because of the size and scope of this attraction. A map would have definitely been helping for me personally just so I can visualize what is going on. That being said I also like how this attraction is indoors, seeing as DAK needs more indoor A/C driven attractions. The visuals and ride layout were the strengths of this proposal, as it really seems to click with me as you explained how you flowed from one scene to the next.
One other minor nitpick was that I felt like some of the ideas of the attraction took too much inspiration from other attractions. At one point you basically said it was very similar to Revenge of the Mummy, which is great, but you actually would be better off not saying that. Because in the end, this is actually a very good attraction as a whole, despite some minor critiques.
@tcool - The Tale of Sleeping Beauty
Nice design and layout for this project. Your presentation skills have really improved, at least in my mind, from the initial presentation in this competition. As for the attraction, I like where you were going by adding a C-ticket attraction to the Magic Kingdom, though I'm not sure it's the best location. The Fantasyland Gardens is directly east of the Castle, and occupies a very small space. I tried and just barely fit Peter Pan's flight in its location, so while the attraction may fit, it would have been nice to see how you would compensate for the lack of greenery in the area now that there is a building there. Especially since in your queue design, you say the guests are wandering outside of the cottage (which I'm assuming houses the attraction itself) For Peter Pan, the queue is very narrow and contained indoors, so more guests can fit inside the building. I feel like that kind of a queue would be more realistic for this type of attraction.
But your attraction itself is very well done. I appreciate and enjoy your statistics and like the scene by scene descriptions. I don't think the ride itself is too outlandish in design, and I can see this as something that could be a good supplement to the lost but not forgotten Snow White Scary Adventures dark ride. It calls back to the classic Disney dark ride techniques and doesn't get too fancy in the design. I also think with the popularity of Maleficent, a Sleeping Beauty attraction could be a possibility. Overall a solid design, but I feel like some aspects of the queue especially, and the ride placement itself, feels too claustrophobic to have the winding queue and ride building size be feasible. But feasibility isn't everything and your ride design is something to be proud of.
@DisneyPrincess1993 - The Villains' Takeover Headquarters
A really neat idea incorporating the villains into Fantasyland. A Villains area is something armchair imagineers always consider to be a top priority given the lack of Villain based attractions, with the variety of amazing and psychologically rich Disney villain characters we have to explore. While one ride couldn't do everyone justice, it's nice that the Villains get a permanent location where they can shine.
To the design itself, the castle may become a bit of overkill, as there would now be 4 castles (if you think Prince Eric's Castle is a Castle) in Fantasyland. Also how tall is the castle? If guests can see it from Main Street, it may cause some distress among Disney purists who don't want the view of the lone Cinderella Castle to be affected by anything extraneous. While I don't agree with it being seen from Main Street, it does tie into your ying/yang theory where there should be a balance between good and evil. For that philosophical theme, I think that could work well.
In regards to the fallout zone, I guess you could push it back, but I honestly don't know enough about pyrotechnics to make an assertion on how that would effect the overall quality of Wishes. Depending on how much of the fireworks fallout zone the castle takes up, if it's only twenty-thirty feet back it may not be an issue.
My favorite parts were the queue and the ride. What's interesting is it seems to appeal to older kids, which would make sense, seeing as a villains ride could be too scary for small kids. A 48 inch height limit would be the highest restriction in all of MK (if you don't could the 52 inches to ride by yourself in Tomorrowland Speedway) so it would definitely be a very unique addition. Also Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey is one of my favorite rides ever, and I thought the technology was outstanding, so incorporating it into a ride like this would be very interesting.
Overall, it was a really solid proposal and something that I think could be a great addition to the park. While a few nitpicks got in the way, it was still a solid job.
