This is a distinct possibility. They're going to make MSEP last as long as it will hold up. Meanwhile, they'll scrap whatever working parts (frames, motors, battery buses) they can from the old Spectro floats and try to budget-build a "new" parade.

I will admit that I wouldn't mind them bringing back the Spectro music with new floats, but I fear the new floats won't showcase any incredible technology and will merely be another round of plywood boxes with Christmas lights stapled to them.

I saw MSEP first when I was about 10, so I have the emotional attachment to that parade like a lot of you guys have to SpectroTragic. I personally loathe Spectro. But I have to admit that I liked it more after they removed the creepy white faced guys.
But even with my emotional attachment to MSEP, I am ready to see it go. But I do like Baroque Hoedown more than Specto's music even though Spectro's music has more variety. But I believe that the reason that
I love Baroque Hoedown so much to Walter Carlos' Switched On Bach. Which I LOVE and was ground breaking in 1968

Spectromagics a great parade and the Electrical Parade is an origional, perhaps they can make an Electrical Parade starting off with the origional lineup, add in the symphony units and had an orchestrated musical ending like Spectromagic with a calvicade. Spectromagic had a great musical score, maybe there's something better we never would have thought of. That's if Disney World gets its act together for this project.

Spectro will not be coming back-ever...termites have eaten their way into the floats.

The DEP floats are having issues as well. They're old and could use some work. Hopefully DEP will be able to make it awhile longer.

Well that's kind of sad in a way. I don't expect we'll be getting a new parade any time soon, and I really don't like MSEP much (arguably better than nothing but i far prefer Spectro).

I still wish they'd just make all new floats but keep the Spectromagic music. Sort of how Dreamlights is to MSEP. That would satisfy the need for a new parade as well as nostalgic connections to Spectro. The music is one part I honestly feel is timeless. Get it some new floats and it will feel new again.

Hope it wasn't the reason MSEP had issues tonight...

Parade came to a dead stop with 'Americana' float at the tip board and lasted a good minute or so.

Rumor had it Americana float didn't make it at second showing either.

Very disappointing to hear. :(

I have a terrible feeling the ultimate result of this is going to be the end of nighttime parades in the MK.
