Will it end up looking like Toyville Trolley Park in Tokyo? Looks especially good at night. Hope they are aiming for something of this quality.

This was supposedly the original idea that was pitched for California Adventure when TSMM was in development which included also THE Claw theme for the then orange stinger. The pier was going to be turned into Anaheim's version of Toy Story land. I'm glad it didn't turn into an all Toy Story area.

the big head thing is actually a twist on an actual facade from an old dark ride that used to be in Santa Monica's old seaside Pier.

was at the resort this Saturday and the place was packed. The Pier is starting to look really bad at night. the lighting in the scream tubes are burnt out or hardly visible and the tubes look dirty and really faded. Most of the popcorn lighting around the coaster track is burnt out and the whole eastern side of the coaster is dark with hardly any real lighting.

Speaking of things that are not working, WOC also had most of its lazers not working except for the western edge. the show didnt look as impressive without the floating lights on the water in several scenes

The woody bighead really reminds me a lot of the entrances to the Luna Parks that they have in Melbourne and Sydney. Luna Park in Melbourne was the first amusement park I ever got to go to, so I really like the Woody version.

I've been here!!

I took this photo on the inside. It was very bizarre and interesting (as one would expect by the entrance), and well maintained. The park is really small though, basically a city block.

Cool! I love St Kilda where the park is at and go there whenever I am in Melbourne but I haven't been inside the park for at least 25 years!

It's really cool area and a bit quirky. It reminded me a bit of a Southern California beach town.

If DCA Paradise Pier 1.0 had looked just as bizzare as that, I would probably have enjoyed the way it looked instead we got ugly stucco walls with plain signs and itching to do except for lots of stores and weird eateries.

I just want some damn details! If Screamin is closing in december should we expect an announcement by then?

With no announcement as part of Pixar Fest details I have feeling it may not happen or may be delayed. They may be second guessing themselves as it didn't go over well at D23. It kind of felt rushed at D23 like it was a last minute add-on since there was very little for DLR during D23. I actually would like this to happen because I think that corner needs life breathed into it. But I just know if it'll happen in the timeline that was announced at D23.

TOT becoming mission breakout also didn't go over well. It still happened. If pixar pier gets cut, it will probably be because of budget issues or because they have come up with a better theme. But since they revealed it there is a high chance that it's still happening and they are just holding onto info until later. I mean we just found out about it this summer, wait until it gets closer to opening for more.

GotG:MB was announced well (like 5/6 months) before ToT closed. And then there were a couple updates there after, with announcements on getting last rides etc.

Pixar Pier was announced to open with the start of Pixar Fest. Closures would have to start like in November/December to be ready in time for Pixar Fest in April. Again with no mention of it in the Pixar Fest update this week. So if anything it got delayed if not cancelled altogether.
