Announced at D23 Parks and Resorts panel
This is one of the most idiotic changes in Disney park history.
This seemed like an empty announcement. No idea what this means. Are they adding attractions? Re-theming existing things? How about an Incredibles ride? Missed opportunity.
Granted, I've only been to Paradise Pier a couple times, but this artwork is pretty empty too. If you didn't tell me it was "Pixar" themed I'd be hard pressed to tell. Rides. Rides. Need rides.
So a pixarpier with little mermaid darkride and mickeys funwheele #whatajoke
I don't mind it. When Paradise Pier first opened it was one of those things that you smiled at but always felt a bit odd with the carnival games that were fairly random save the prizes. At least theming it to Pixar brings together TSMM and gives it a land styling.
Okay, so some person in the other thread is trying to tell me all the announcements were expected. Were we expecting this? Talk about left field.
It kinda sounds like it will be an area within Paradise Pier? I'm a bit confused but I don't mind the change
This came from outer space.
Maybe the old maliboomer area its near TSM
This ****es me off. They really ought to change the name of the park already. The "California" idea has been incoherent for a long, long time but now it's beyond the point of absurdity.
Looks like the Season of the Force treatment. Food, merchandise and a theater showing trailers for the latest movie. The pinnacle of Imagineering.
Will it end up looking like Toyville Trolley Park in Tokyo? Looks especially good at night. Hope they are aiming for something of this quality.
I'm guessing Little Mermaid moves to Pacific Wharf on the park map. And all of the PP flat rides get overlays yet again. Including Mickeys Fun wheel. This one is confusing because Is kind of become the park icon especially since WOC.
Paradise Pier has been rumored to get an overhaul for quite some time now. The theme was just up in the air, keep current or something new. So while the theming might have been out of left field, though you can say with TSMM it was not a huge leap, the overhaul is not.
No but seriously it looks like a giant Woody is eating all those poor Japanese people.
Agreed, looks terrible.
Maybe this means classic fab five will eventually take over the Hollywood area
So it says Pixar Fun Wheel on the edge of that concept art - I really don't get this... I don't mind replacing the generic pier stuff, but why take down the Mickey face!?
AND REPLACE IT WITH THE LAMP!?
Separate names with a comma.
