Just out of curiosity, which characters are you referring to?
Anyone can whine about a cartoon recast not sounding right.
Anselmo doesn't sound like Nash and is actually comprehensible as Donald, the various Goofy VAs, the army of people that have taken over Mel Blanc's characters, modern Snow White sounding like fingernails on a chalkboard (which is actually something that really does bug me), etcetera, etcetera.

Those of us that grew up watching Bugs Bunny, immediately know that the original voice of Mel Blanc and the current are no where near the same. However, Mel Blanc, was not able to live forever, so we must adapt. New viewers think the originals sound weird.

At least Mel Blanc can still be heard as the voices of The Parrot & Uncle Orville in Carousel of Progress.

Also he was to be the voice of Gideon from Pinocchio. However they decided that making him a mute character made him funnier they removed his audio..Except for one sound byte of him Hiccuping during the Coachman's Proposition..

I think he was gonna voice Dopey, too...

Back to the Muppets, if they resurrected the Great Muppet Movie Ride idea, which movies would you like to see featured? A Pirates of the Caribbean scene that parodies the attraction, in my opinion, could be fun.

And besides, Muppets Most Wanted wasn't even that good of a movie.

I disagree. Muppets Most Wanted is a fantastic film that is true to the spirit of the Muppets.

You know that cliché where the bad guy steals the main character's identity and despite the fact that he doesn't act nor sound like him everybody falls for it? The one that's been used in, like, every cartoon EVER? That's this movie.

And in response to whether or not this is worse than Muppets From Space, I'd say YES. At least Muppets From Space has its moments. Every joke in Muppets Most Wanted can be essentially summed up as "LOL THE MUPPETS ARE DUMB", "STEREOTYPES", "FOURTH WALL", and "THE MUPPETS HAVE NO FANS".

I strongly disagree with all that and feel that you are completely wrong and off-base.

I do agree with you that it was a fun movie, but I understand why most people (and I think myself included) preferred The Muppets (2011) over Muppets Most Wanted. I love both films so much though and they both capture the spirit of the Muppets perfectly in two different styles.

I've already explained why I think Muppets is a good candidate for removal, at this point I don't think our opinions are going to change.

You and your sock puppet Magenta Panther/Gigglesock, well as Phil12, are obviously menaces to society and need to be banned from this forum ASAP!

Also, the score is actually Muppets: 4+, Magenta Panther: 0

Star Wars (sci-fi)
Indiana Jones (action)
PotC (adventure)
Gangster/cowboy scene (send up of GMR - very meta)
Toy Story (recreates the 'but I don't wanna use my head!' scene, or walking across the busy road with traffic cones from TS2) - comedy
classic horror (pokes fun at ToT) - Mel Brooks/Abbott and Costello
Fantasia (light ribbing at Fantasmic) - Fozzie as the Apprentice
B&TB (spoofs the Lilo and Stitch teaser by having Animal destroy the chandelier)
Grand finale (Magic Store/Rainbow Connection - complete with 1,001 Muppet AAs)

I doubt there'd be enough space for this kind of 10-15 minute dark ride haha.

How? I mean, if you like the movie, fine, but I can't see how it's "true to the spirit of the Muppets".

Because the Muppets have always been about wackiness, crime capers and breaking the fourth wall. I understand why you prefer the 2011 film over Most Wanted, but both films managed to capture the spirit of the Muppets in two distinct ways.

Also, has anyone here seen The Muppets at Walt Disney World? It's one of my absolute favorite Muppet productions ever, and I think everyone on the forum would be interested in seeing it. It's hilarious.

True, true. But I think the main problem is that they made the Muppets too dumb. Seriously, they don't notice that an obvious fake with a Russian accent he can't hide has replaced his friend?

And yes, I have seen the Disney World special. I agree, it's pretty good.

Once again... Suspension of disbelief is what they bank on all through Disney. It's their thing! Without it they have not much of anything to sell.

Isn't that the point? They realize but convince themselves of the wrong assumptions because of their own greed and desires? Gonzo says it best at the end of the film.

Gonzo: "Kermit, we convinced ourselves that evil frog was you, because he gave us what we thought we wanted"

I think the point is that they (at least some of them) do notice something weird, but they cover it up for their own selfish reasons, but at the end they come to appreciate what they have and how the people in your life are so important to you.

I like the Muppets, but am not a huge fan, but am a Die-Hard fan of Star Wars. must say though they need to replace the old Muppet Vision 3D with a new movie, and make it 4D. I think it should be kept in the park, but possibly moved

Now, I thought I made it clear how I feel about puppets of ANY kind:

So anyway, why don't you PM the administrator of this site and ask if I've got multiple accounts here? It shouldn't be hard to find out.

And do enlighten us all how a flop TV special, a flop movie, disastrous DVD sales and getting kicked out of Disneyland amounts to "wins" for those characters? Or does your reasoning go something like this?

By the way, Frozen was a MUCH better movie than Tangled.

As far as Magenta Panther's "predictions" go, remember, he's the same guy who thought Frozen and Big Hero 6 were going to be terrible.

I think any true Disney fan would feel some consternation at the idea of the Walt Disney Animation Studio, creator of classic animated films like "Pinocchio" and "Fantasia", lowering itself to animate Marvel superheroes.

Fortunately, WDAS adapted "Big Hero 6" in the classic Disney manner - it took a published book that hadn't been fully realized as a film, changed it, plussed it, made it Disney, and thus created a wonderful movie. "Big Hero 6" has very little in it that's actually Marvel. It's a film that I love, that I own, and I can't wait for the sequel.

As for "Frozen", in my opinion, it IS terrible, and I haven't changed my mind about it. However, I've noted here numerous times that I'm nonetheless delighted by its success, primarily because of the big boost it gave WDAS.

Oh, and because it helped kick the Muppets out of Disneyland.
