The rooftop of the Millenium Village features an intricate sprinkler system which dampens down the roof top prior to Reflections of Earth. The soaking down reduces the chance of a falling pyro element starting any kind of fire.

Thanks for this memory Steve! I experienced that "rain" every night while working there! Very clever and very safe! :)

In a related tidbit, there are sprinklers that wet down the roofs of the Fantasyland buildings during Wishes.

And to answer the un-answered question from 10 years ago, they *used* to shoot the opening comet from the roof of the Queen's Table shop in the UK pavilion (the rear section of the row of shops that includes the tea shop). It actually was shot out *over* the walkway (where they'd have CMs close off the walkway for a couple minutes at the start of each show) and the Rose & Crown building.

After the incident with the air-launch system on the inferno barge, they eventually relocated the launcher to the America Gardens Theater roof, though the launcher is not currently being used.
