Nice point. Here's a counter point. No one. Absolutely no one (with a brain) that has gone to WDW between Jan 5 and today or will be going to WDW in the next month, was given any indication that this mess would be going on during their trip. So fair warning isn't a very good defense. Most WDW trips are planned at least 6 months in advance. If you're smart, 9-12 months in advance. So anyone who's going to be there tomorrow -- most likely bought their tickets long before this was announced.

Yes, any guest planning a trip should have some understanding that some refurbs may happen during their trip. However -- combined with the mess that is currently the hub -- that's a lot of walls dude. and it's bad show....

Here's a question....What would you rather have to contend with? Some fair warning so you are given a choice to not go to WDW? Or to be trapped in a trip with airfare, park tickets and hotels purchased -- only to find out that your trip is going to be a bunch of walls and shuttered attractions with no end in sight? I'll tell you what TDO wants you to do! The latter - you're stuck at that point and they have your money. The problem with that is the next time someone decides to travel to WDW -- they might remember the butthurt from shelling out enough money for a used car on a vacation only to find themselves in a construction zone -- and opt to go visit Wizards, Bart Simpson and Dinosaurs up I-4.

So while I agree with you that no one is forcing anyone through the turnstiles, most people have their plans set long before this mess happens - and aren't privy to enough information to make an informed decision to stay away. The best that people have to accept is maybe they'll get done with this mess before they get down there next. But who knows when they'll complete this or the hub? March? April? Next year? This place has been a construction site since last decade -- and it's getting old.

Thats it. I'm done on this subject. Too many TDO apologists for me to stomach the discussion. Each one of you -- please, go thank Georgie and the rest of the shrubs over at TDO for taking their sweet a$$ time on this project, like someone has suggested earlier. They really need the encouragement.

If a guest feels like the experience will be ruined with construction all over the place and hats have demolished, then they shouldn't go. That being said, construction hasn't stopped people from going to the parks in the past though.

On a tangent:

Disney needs to get its act together for refurb schedules. Guests have to plan their trips far in advance for FP+ and DDP, and Disney whips out surprise refurbs for multiple attractions at once. Yes, it all needs to be maintained, but Disney should announce planned schedules at least 6 months in advance.

Is TCM driving any of these changes and was there anything in the contract with Disney that states what kind of foothold TGM holds in the park? Not sure if you know, but if true, God bless Ted turner

TCM has spurred some change it seems but just an FYI, Ted Turner has long sold the network to TimeWarner.
