Are you not going to ride it because it's been re-themed?
Part of what I really liked about ToT was the theming. Without that, I just don't have a desire to ride it again.

I'm not one to cut my nose off to spite my face. If I really loved the ride itself, I would be riding it. If they rethemed California Screamin to a GotG coaster, I would ride it. For some reason the theming just seemed like a bigger piece of the ToT experience.

If we're talking about the on-ride experience, it was basically a magic mirror and short scene looking down a hallway. The rest of it was in darkness. Pretty light on theming and way more haunted house than TZ other than the narration. Nice queue, sure, but always felt the ride itself was pretty basic -- especially compared to the original in FL.

Really hopeful GotG bulks up the on-ride experience. We already know we're getting multiple drop sequences ala WDW so that's a huge improvement to start. Hopefully everything else is improved upon as well. The outside looks pretty awful currently, but still keeping an open mind for what's inside!

Wasn't the random drop sequences added years ago but they never turned them on? Now it will take no effort to give us a new selling point.

As one of the more vocal people here against the GOTG overlay, I should probably mention that I will continue to ride the ride formerly known as TOT and will probably do so on almost every visit. It will obviously still be one of the most fun attractions at the resort based off just the ride system alone. However, that does not mean that the experience as a whole won't be a downgrade. That does not mean that this overlay makes any sense. And that does not mean that the new building is not butt ugly.

Yep. I don't hate this project as much as I hate SWL. The two factors I'm completely against are its placement and theme. It's so incredibly frustrating to see ideas like this put on the table and approved because Disney can obviously do better. I am curious about the ride. As I've said before, going up and down with the soundtrack music sounds like fun. I'm planning to give this a shot (unlike SWL), but I'm still against its placement and theme.

Lol. I'm not sure I'm following. ??
Thought I might have detected a bit of annoyance in your statement:

"I really don't care about what anyone else thinks. I'm sorry that I honestly express my opinion and try to add some meaningful dialogue to these boards."

But I was just kidding about the t-shirt comment. For some reason I like recommending you get t-shirts made up. lol

Already in the new selling points: Randomized falls. In the shaft, out of the shaft, back in the shaft. Randomized scenes as well as randomized drop routes.

H Once he rolled around to reviewing projects in WDI's pipeline, he had a very valid question for everyone - why have they been sitting on the hugely popular Marvel Cinematic Universe? Disney has owned Marvel since 2009 and despite some close calls, no major attractions had been greenlit.

It did not make sense to Chapek that WDPR had been so slow to capitalize on Marvel. Coming from merch, he understands the big brands so he emphasizes IP-based attractions.
Maybe, he should have done some research on the pre-existing contract with Universal. Hell, Maybe, Disney should have done some research on the Universal contract before buying Marvel in the first place.

I understand the concern with SWL's placement but I am not ready to condemn the quality yet.
