Surprisingly, the worst review I've seen for FoP was by Tim Tracker (who's YouTube channel I love and watch regularly). They first rode during cast previews and Tim was very underwhelmed by the ride even calling it a D ticket. I linked to where their review starts (about 31 minutes if it doesn't work)

Yeah that's the only one I've seen as well.

Finally visited the new area last night. It was raining to I took the chance of the lower crowds and I was not disappointed. I ended up waiting about 2 hours for FoP, but since I was interested in seeing the queue anyway it was not a big deal. Outside portion offers wonderful opportunities for photos of the land, and there are plenty of fans to keep a breeze. Once inside the cave the A/C was noticeable, but since it is still connected to the outside and there a lot of people it isn't as cool as the true inside areas. The bio-luminescent area was nice, although I do feel it relied to much on black light. The lab was probably my favorite section since it supplied plenty to look at while waiting. The ride itself was excellent! Smooth motion, excellent implementation of breeze, water, and smell effects, and the breathing banshee was a cool effect. The 3-D was clear, but I wish there was a better way to clean the glasses as they almost always have water spots.

After the ride I went to Satu'li and had the beef and rice bowl with the black bean vinaigrette. Easily the best quick service location on property, and well worth the $16.00. That price is including the drink by the way.

Finally I went on RJ. The queue had a posted wait of 70 minutes, but I was riding in about 30. The line moves very well so there is not a lot of standing around unless they are backed up of FastPass. The ride itself was exactly what I was expecting. A calm journey through the forest capped off with an amazing animatronic. I really liked how they made the best with the space they had. It curves in and out constantly making the area feel much larger than it actually is. The video effects are also better in person as the layering still adds depth to a static environment.

As I was leaving something completely hit me. While i was in the new area I had actually forgotten I was still in Animal Kingdom. The transition back to the other areas is so smooth and the feel of the area is so different. Overall I feel Disney hit this area out of the park. When the crowds start to really quiet down I will find myself spending quite a bit of time there even if it is just to grab a quick bite to eat.

We swung through after a wedding we attended down in Florida and bought our Military tickets for our October trip......for the new 5th day and used it to do all four parks that day for the first time. Hit as many favorites as we could without rushing as we still ate and actually went back for a few hours nap but finished in Pandora.

Wow, it was really breathtaking to say the least. The Navi River Journey was decent and a nice compliment to the main attraction as well. I thought the area was a little too dark at night (we were there from 930pm to 1am) and could use more passive lighting throughout as We were for sure a little disoriented but had we studied the map a little bit before entering or went in when day light we could have avoided that. Definitely doing day time visit in October. We did not use fast pass as this was a last second adventure and the que for Flights of Passage was amazing.....the hour wait wasn't bad at all as the covered que is huge. The Navi River Journey que would have been less enjoyable but the wait was a quick 20min so no issues for us but not looking forward to that potential wait. These were my only issues and obviously not major.

The food was excellent and a nice change of pace for WDW. I had the beef slices meal with rice and it was good and my wife and daughter shared the cheeseburger puffs or whatever they call them. I tried those and they were good too. The specialty drink was very good but I'm simple and prefer my frozen lemonade drink in frontierland or La Feu's brew myself however the little flavor bursting beads were a nice addition.

Flight of Passage was insane and just an amazing experience. It doesn't have the same love I have for the subject matter that I get with Forbidden Journey but the ride and visuals are playing in a whole new arena. Just takes all my issues with Forbidden Journey and seamlessly executes a better experience. I will say the end is more abrupt than I assumed it would be and I can think of a few ways to fix that but that said (SPOILER?) I like sitting there at the end taking in the world of Pandora around you. The three people in front of us were larger people in girth and the CM had to lock them in to their seats with some serious effort. The lady was quite large and they got her in so those concerns are not that relevant since they got her on.....she would not be able to do Forbidden Journey and either would the other two family members. Getting properly seated with legs all the way up and in is key and being on the balls to toes of your feet (like on a motorcycle) and not flat footed (my wife had to adjust from this position on my recommendation) was essential to comfort. The movement and real feeling of the world around you is truly innovative and a one of a kind attraction at this point. I loved it and had no issues with feeling sick despite being the type to struggle with feeling good after Mission Space and Forbidden Journey and sometimes even Star Tours depending on the day.

Sorry so long but it was amazing and I just couldn't stop writing.

Got to ride it twice this past weekend using the EMH, only got to check out the land at night but it was amazing and FOP blew my mind. The only thing is, the glasses kept slipping and wouldn't stay on properly, so during the ride, I would have to adjust them. I'm not sure if that issue is just with me or if other people are experiencing it too, that is the only problem I have with the ride. I thought the story, the visuals and movement was all very well done. I felt like I was actually in Pandora on the ride.

Surprisingly it didn't happen to me - and I have a very small head for an adult. I'm not sure what I did, but they were fine.

That said, I was NOT leaning forward at all. I cannot do it with my back so I was sitting as upright as I possibly could so I might have been okay because of that. I did ask my 9yo and he said he did lean forward but they did not slip down as riding either. (my head is slightly smaller than his)

One thing I will say is that I often have a lot of issues with 3D. I just see double/triple all the time no matter what. Not sure why. This wasn't perfect for me, but it was a bit blurred at times. Didn't bother me, but if you don't see 3D well this is much better than average but not crystal clear.

I agree on the glasses I was a bit distracted keeping them on at times lol but I have a small nose ....

I agree. Something similar to the Star Tours glasses would work better, imo. These seemed loose and kinda bulky. At least, for me. I also have a small head/nose.

I could be mistaken, but I believe the flight goggles are a bit bulkier because they're designed with that "extra frame" (for lack of a better term) to help reduce your peripheral vision so you're less aware of the people around you or the ride vehicle that you're straddling. I think this is what makes them seem bulky and ultimately contributes to them feeling like they're going to slide off, because of the added weight. Just a guess though, as multiple people have reported this same issue. I didn't experience any problems, but nonetheless.

I actually thought they had MORE peripheral vision than the ones on Star Tours o_O

Back in France after few days in Florida!

Made all parks (SeaWorld, Universal, WDW), Flight of passage is probably the best ride i've done ever !
The film is really beautiful, the 3d is perfect, and the sensations of flying are so.... WOW !!

I've done it twice!

The first one, i was in the middle on the screen, and the seat was vibrating, but on my second passage, i was on the extrem right, and no vibrations!

The queue was correct, less than 2 hours each! :)
