Disney's Electrical Parade Floats are Leaving Disneyland (picture)

Greetings from the Disneyland Hotel (Free Internet)!

I was driving around the resort this evening when I noticed two very large trucks with crates on them in front of me. There was an escort with a "wide load" in the front and back of each truck. I said to my wife, that's the Electrical Parade on its way to Orlando. She said no way.

It has been confirmed, at this time, the road in front of the Paradise Pier hotel is closed to allow the larger trucks to move the crated floats from backstage. There were very large trucks with escorts pulling out of the backstage area. I parked my car and watched them take two more floats from backstage. It is very dark now and I couldn't grab more pictures.

This has me SO excited!!!!!! Bring it on!!!! Can't wait to hear "Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls" blasting over the pa, the people clapping along, and, of course, the thousands of sparkling lights with that electro-sythnemagnetic musical sound. The one...the only...Main Street Electrical Parade!!!!!!



Can you tell I'm a tiny bit obsessed? ;)

I know this starts June 6th but does anyone think or have known Disney in the past to have a soft open. I head home on June 5th but wondering if they may have this parade going before the actual open date?? :shrug:

I don't think a parade would have a soft opening, I could be wrong so don't hold me to it 100%, because the performers have dance routines and choreography they have to learn and probably will want right up till the last second to practice and get prepared. But my question is I wonder if the costumes are going to be brand new ones or are they shipping those from DL as well? Because if they're shipping them than that would mean that the costume department would have to fit all the performers and fix whatever needs to be fixed and that would probably be a tight schedule as it is because it's less than 60 days out. But like I said I could totally be assuming something completly wrong because I have no inside knowledge I'm just kind of doing a fly by night guess here...:lol:

I would agree its a VERY tight schedule. However if I may convince the powers within I do believe they should have a test run or two during my week in the World. :)

They will almost certainly have a soft open, but it's not clear if it will be infront of guests.

It's a huge operation getting this parade back running in WDW. However, in previous years they have ran these parade tests overnight, and then final testing has been with cast only after park closing.

I'll miss the parade, but at least I'll get to see it during my annual trip to WDW. Just remember everyone, the music is a bit different now. It's still hoedown, but with a little twist.

Interesting. I hope the intro uses main street electrical parade, and not just disneys electrical parade.

I am secretly praying for them to revert it back to the original perrey & kingsley version...the new DreamLights-style one is dounds like a fake midi version to me. But whatever, it could be worse.
