This is obviously just promotion for the new movie. If the movie is a hit, they may keep the character in her "Angelina Jolie" version at Disney Studios, but most likely for parades and shows she'll stay with the animated version's costume.
HOWEVER, I've always thought that the Maleficent...
There's an old parade float that still makes an appearance at Halloween with Jack Sparrow on top, sort of like a large rocky cliff. If they repainted it, it would be fun maybe at halloween or some other special event to have Philip on top in front of the dragon "fighting" it. Not in the actual...
Reasoning that they didn't include Frozen because the design/build process was already in the late stages before Frozen's release is in fact very fair. Frozen debuted at Thanksgiving and it's now January and the parade is already complete and sitting in the park pretty much.
Parades like these...
While I find the parade floats from Disney's Tokyo parades in general to be beautifully designed and visually stunning, they're a little too abstract for me. I prefer the more literal settings represented by the floats in the American parks. That's just my personal taste though.
They said "Part of a train set" didn't they? I think that could actually refer to the Princess float or Pinocchio float. A train may not necessarily mean an actual steam-engine-style train, it can also mean a series of vehicles linked together. Both the Princess and Pinocchio floats are made up...
There will most likely be 8 floats:
Mickey's Balloon
Brave
Tangled
The Little Mermaid
Pinocchio/Dumbo
Princess Garden
Peter Pan
Sleeping Beauty
The Sleeping Beauty float won't be the one from Paris - I'm pretty sure it was destroyed when they got their new parade back in 2007.
With the new "Maleficent" movie coming out it would make sense to have a big Sleeping Beauty float in the parade. A great choice too, such a beautifully animated movie should make a great inspiration for the parade's most "spectacular" float.
I'm really glad that there's finally been some progress on the long-rumoured "Festival of Fantasy Parade". Definitely a few surprises in the line-up though - I'm really happy to see that there might be a Sleeping Beauty float as there has been very few units in any parade at any park dedicated...
I completely agree with this post. Nostalgia is wonderful but really Disney should be taking full advantage of the technology available today to make a parade that would leave its predecessors in the dust. I'm sorry, but people are now using more sophisticated lights on their houses at christmas...
I generally find the "you can't judge something from youtube" attitude rather maddening. You can see the parades in hundreds of different videos of varying quality, from the hazy cell phone clips to the almost professionally shot HD videos by devoted fans who make it their business to document...
Wow.... It's been running for a quarter of the time that the park has been open. I never thought of it that way....
Yeah it's time for a new one. Actually it was time for a new one years ago. I'd say a new parade is in development SOMEWHERE down the line. Surely there must be someone in the...
I don't think arguing over which parade has better floats or better music is going to do any good. There will never be a definitive answer to which is best because people have different tastes. Someone who loves MSEP and saw it in its prime is always going to enjoy it more than spectro, just as...
