For this point-of-view video, a camera was mounted on the driver’s side of a Radiator Springs Racers car during a recent test run in Cars Land at Disney California Adventure park. Vehicles are being tested seven days a week, mostly at night. By the time each vehicle is commissioned, it will travel approximately 36,000 miles per year!

The video also shows a quick sneak peek of what to expect inside the mountain range. Guests will get to see the entire track for themselves when the attraction opens on June 15.

An aerial photo of Cars Land, something that is pretty rare for DLR compared to WDW.

An update on the new entertainment acts coming to Cars Land:

Red the Fire Truck - With the help of young Guests, Red uses his hose and water to clean the town and water the plants to make Radiator Springs look beautiful.

DJ - When DJ rolls into Cars Land, he "stops traffic" and creates a spontaneous, interactive dance party with our Guests.

Mater and McQueen - These buddies set up shop at the Cozy Cone to make new friends and smile for the cameras.

In addition to the different acts listed above, Disney will be casting for a non-verbal role that will also be featured in Cars Land:

Males with strong physical comedy and improv skills. All ages, body types and ethnicities are encouraged to attend, including deaf performers (translator will be provided). This is a mostly non-verbal role (think Charlie Chaplin meets Cirque clown.)

Also listed as part of the entertainment, the nightly transformation of Radiator Springs (expected to be similar to the neon lighting moment in the movie):

Don't miss the transformation of Radiator Springs at sunset when the streets shimmer from sparkling lights and music pulses through the night air.

This is how it appears in the movie :)

I'm excited to see Red out in Cars Land. I loved seeing the one at the Expo.

The neon lighting moment has me the most excited.

That has to be one of my favorite scenes of any Disney movie! It's just so cute, and I'm not one who normally goes in for cute.

But this twilight "moment" where they play the Shh-Boom song and turn on all the neon in Cars Land has me really looking forward to warm summer nights in Anaheim a few months from now!

Another great picture of Anaheim's newest E Ticket - Radiator Springs Racers testing today, taken from the top of the Fun Wheel and posted on Dateline Disneyland. It's an angle and image we've seen before, but the rockwork just gets more and more stunning!

This is just the first banked curve coming out of the dark ride portion of the building. There's a lot of the track we haven't seen yet.

I can't wait to see for myself what the rest of "Ornament Valley" looks like!

A look at the virtual reality technology that WDI used in the creation and design of Cars Land:

Walt Disney Imagineers are just as creative today as they were back when the Disneyland Resort opened in 1955, but today’s Imagineers are luckier. They have technology at their fingertips that helps tremendously when creating a new attraction or a new land like Cars Land, opening June 15 at Disney California Adventure park. In this video we take you behind the scenes at WDI in Glendale, Calif., where Imagineers are using a tool called the Digital Immersive Showroom or “The Dish.” This virtual-reality technology assists Imagineers in spotting potential design issues before construction. It also helps them to figure out timing, audio cues and special effects. It’s actually quite amazing. Take a look.

Entertainment for Cars Land has been made official

"Red to the Rescue"
Big and red on the outside, gentle and good-natured on the inside, Red the Fire Truck shows up with his sirens blaring and his bell ringing, heading to meet up with his good buddy, a Volunteer Firefighter. The Firefighter lets everyone know the flowers in the area need watering. It’s “Red to the Rescue,” but each time the Firefighter attempts to use Red’s hose, it backfires on him! In all the fun, the plants manage to get wet, and you might too!

"DJ’s Dance & Drive"
Bringing a completely different kind of beat to the street is “DJ’s Dance & Drive.” DJ, the ultimate party car, rolls into town with his giant speakers, built-in disc changer and his very own dance party, led by a girl named Spinner. This gang stops traffic everywhere they go, creating a spontaneous, interactive dance party. Spinner and the crew teach us moves like the Overdrive, the Reverse and the Hairpin Turn, while DJ calls up the hits, from “Life in the Fast Lane” to “Car Wash.” DJ’s going to shift Cars Land into high gear!
