Sox Win! Sox Win! :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:

After my children being born and my wedding day, this is the next greatest day in my life. I have been a White Sox fan since birth and have watched thousands and thousands of games. I never thought this day would actually come.

I am still stunned. It will take a while for this to truly sink in.

Well, it would be their turn to end the long suffering of their fans. I know I'll be pulling for them next year.
so, if the Cubs were to win it all in 2006, who would be in line for the longest drought after that? Cleveland?

Possibly. I'm not really sure, but it seems that would be the team to go with.

Yep.

Longest current droughts:

Cubs (1908)
Indians (1948)
Giants (1954, while in N.Y.)

weird not to see the Sox teams listed like that anymore.
What's also weird is the last time both Sox won the World Series was also in consecutive seasons (1917-1918). Sports are spooky sometimes.

so, that would mean the Reds are going to win next year since they won in 1919.

Well, since the Red Sox won first, it would appear we're going in reverse order. That would mean next year's champ should be the same as in 1916, which would be...the Red Sox.

Sorry, Scott.

Sorry, Scott.
and continuing that in reverse order, that would mean the Red Sox would repeat as winners again in 2007.

and then that would mean the Braves would win it in 2008.

Cricket, anyone?

Way to go White Sox!:sohappy:

Now, I have a VERY good feeling about the cards next year. A brand spanking new stadium, and some adjustments to our bull pen, and we shall be awesome!

BTW, did anyone see that shot in the crowd of the White Sox fan wearing the golden Mickey ears?

I'm not a fan of watching baseball, but since I played it for many many years, I've always loved the game itself. It was nice seeing the "hometown" team in it, and completely sweep the series! Congrats to the White Sox for an amazing season and the 4-0 World Series!
