World of Color Show to EPCOT?

For those of you who have seen the World of Color at Disneyland California Adventure, you'll know this is an amazing show that would be a perfect addition to EPCOT. I realize the current show doesn't exactly fit the theme of EPCOT, but the lagoon is potentially a good location that can replace the existing Illuminations (which I feel has become somewhat tired). They could add elements that focused more on the "World" of color with cultural cues and a slightly different spin than the "Under the Sea" montage, for example.

From an engineering perspective, I think World of Color uses a fairly advanced system that has been set up specifically for California Adventure and "converting" the World Showcase lagoon at EPCOT to support this would be no easy or cheap task.

I am a big Illuminations fan and would like to see them both, but the World of Color is incredible and would provide a much needed boost to EPCOT's show arsenal.

WoC is no doubt an amazing show, but I wouldn't like to see fireworks no longer be a part of Epcot's nightly show. I am sure we will see elements of WoC be incorporated, but I don't think we'll see a clone.

World Of Color is great, but it will never replace IllumiNations. Mainly because you would have to project the projections to so many different parts of the lagoon. IllumiNations will never go away. You can't get any better than IllumiNations. Best show on the property bar none.

It was also discussed as a problem in that the WoC hardware needs a controlled/closed water system.

While World Showcase Lagoon was constructed, it's essentially an open lake now, and unsuitable for the WoC infrastructure.

To put WoC in the lagoon would require a complete draining, lining the entire lake with concrete and adding a water filtration system. It would also most likely mean the end of Friendships inside the park and moving the Friendship marina elsewhere, as they'd have to cut off the lagoon from the rest of the Crescent Lake waterways.

I think the only in-park body of water that fits the construction requirements would be Echo Lake at the Studios, but it's obviously WAY too tiny for WoC.

As Steve mentioned above, I could see some elements of the WoC fountains making their way onto the RoE barges, but not a complete replacement/installation.

We saw World of Color for the first time back in June, and while I did like it, and I can appreciate the technological achievement, I would much rather see a new and improved version of Illuminations than World of Color ported to another park.

That's California Adventure's thing. Illuminations is Epcot's thing. As far as I'm concerned, they should stay in their respective parks.

World of Color is a good show, however not a good replacement for IllumiNations. Epcot still needs a show that has fireworks featured in it.

I could see WoC's tech more in DHS, especially with Fantasmic's current schedule in the shambles it is. Illuminations does need an update but I doubt much would come from WoC.

World of Color is an incredible show. Saw it for the first time in August.

What I think is that they should update IllumiNations. If they brought WoC(or some kind of version of it) to WDW, bring it to a park that needs it -- DHS or (needs it more) DAK.

Wasn't there a rumor awhile back for the Hyperion Wharf section at DTD To have some WoC Show in the lagoon?

Village Lake poses the same problem as World Showcase Lagoon: it's not a closed body of water. Plus at DD you add in the complexity of rental boats plying the water in the viscinity...

I love illuminations. I would hate to see it go away. But I'm dying to see WoC.
And tbh, I doubt the lake is even able to do the show. Maybe they could incoporate some of WoC into Fantasmic?

I've seen world of color. It's rather impressive technology but the show is like a giant commercial. The TRON edition rocks but the show as a whole lacks any emotion which is the staple for the Florida shows.

Just my opinion.

That would be a Congestion NIGHTMARE! Learn from Mistakes..Ala Splashtacular...

Splashtacular was packed in one spot do to the stage where World of Color could be seen all over innocentions. The trafic for splashtacular came from people passing thru the still crowds. Believe it or not people actrualey watched that show. And they probably had that song stuck in their head .
