In the windy day scene, how is the effect of Roo being in the wind holding onto the blanket work? Is there something in the blanket or some sort of string?

The "blanket" is a solid piece being supported by a rod that sticks out from the fencepost behind it. The rod moves up and down which causes Roo to move up and down. You can see it if you look at it just before exiting the room.
