Why no Bambi in any of the Disney Parks?

Should Bambi be represented in the Disney Parks?

Why can't they have a Bambi dark ride in AK? Lol, why does the captoin for the poster of bambi say love story? I think it's more of a coming of age story with a girl thrown in.

Bambi would be sorta tricky to be represented in the parks. It would be hard to do M&G's without making the characters look odd, or use puppets, etc. The story itself doesn't leave us with enough opportunities for a decent dark ride (perhaps an interactive shoot 'em ride such as Buzz & TSMM, only this time, guests take on the role of the hunters & try to earn points?). < Joking of course.
But in all seriousness, the story of a deer growing up, meeting friends, losing a parent, and becoming a husband/father doesn't really do it for a dark ride the way films such as Peter Pan, Snow White, & Mermaid do. Don't get me wrong...it is a great film, probably one of my top-5 favorites, but difficult nonetheless to transfer over to theme park material (imo).

Bambi flopped big time on it's initial release, mainly because of the war. After Walt's death it became more popular, but never reached the fame some of the other Walt Disney films did.

Probably true, but I challenge you to find anyone that doesn't know the story of Bambi. The movie wasn't popular but the story was and it gave everyone a good excuse to cry. :)

I vote no. If they brought in a live action Bambi M&G there would be too much deer poop everywhere. Then people would slip and fall on it. Imagine the lawsuits. Not a good idea.

The mural in the former Walt Disney Story (for you young whippersnappers: that was one of several actual attractions on Main Street!) provided a permanent presence for all main characters of all Disney movies right up until the Animation Renaissance.

Bambi slightly left of centre:

I have mentioned this before as well. I think a cartoon oriented land in DAK (called something like "Critter Country") would make a lot of sense and a Bambi dark ride would be a reasonable part. A bunch of other properties could be included like The Jungle Book (which would be perfect for a larger scale e-ticket, something like Splash Mountain), Pocahontas, 101 Dalmatians, Lady and the Tramp, The Aristocats, The Rescuers, The Great Mouse Detective, The Fox and the Hound, Brother Bears, etc. Or even something themed to Chip and Dale. Tarzan would also fit, but I've read that Disney doesn't have rights to build additional attractions for that property (I don't believe it, but I've seen it said).

Basically make a Fantasyland-ish area but for animals. I think it would fit well into the DAK environment, bringing in characters that many guest like/want, but also wouldn't be disrupted to the great theming that exists in most of the DAK lands. Also, would be a good place to put animal character meet and greets.

Well, The Lion King is Hamlet, so no it is not the same story as Bambi, but that aside, it is a bit surprising, especially since it has not faded into obscurity (even Mary Poppins can be found in both MK and EPCOT).

Lion King = Hamlet?! Mind BLOWN.

(Then again, I found out 6 months ago that A Bugs Life is the story of the Grasshopper and the Ants. Never put 2 and 2 together before...But yeah, that was a DUH.)

A Bugs Life is also The Three Amigos. Remember that film with Chevy Chase, Martin Short, & Steve Martin? It's about three actors who are mistaken to be actual warriors. They are brought in to protect a village from an evil gang of thugs. It is later discovered that they are not real warriors, but only actors. Yet they still come together with the town's people to fight off the bad guys. Does anybody else hear A Bug's Life in this?
