I find it interesting that my daughter has different pronunciations for words based on context and mood:

Julia ruined her sweatshirt by spilling slime on it. "Ruined", in this case, is one syllable and pronounced "rooooned".

It's raining outside and my hair is going to be ruined. "Ruined", in this instance, becomes three syllables and is pronounced, "ROO-win-DUHHHED".
