When to book flights for November/Dec

We have a trip planned from Nov 28 - Dec 5 and wondered if anyone can recommend a good time to start looking for flights based on past experience going during this time. I checked today and the lowest round trip was $270 from Chicago to Orlando. Also, any good sites to use would help as well. I used bing travel (previously known as farecast) today and got that $270.

We typically book SW or JB as soon as the schedules are out. We rarely fly the other airlines. Between the baggage fees, changing schedules, and not much better service, we feel they're not worth it. SW comes out with their schedule for Nov/Dec on June 15th. JB released their schedule last month. We got RT from Hartford for $238 - direct - 1st bag free. If I booked it when I first saw it, it would have been $158 RT (I could kick myself for waiting...:brick
