Ok, so I am almost ashamed to ask this question, but here goes. If we check-out on a Thursday, our tickets are still good til closing, right? I'm sorry to ask such a silly question, but I just got through a week of finals and my brain isn't working....blahhhhh! Anyway, like if our plane doesn't leave until 6p, we can go to the parks until at least 2p, right?

Help!! Mommy has lost her mind!

Maybe do a little last minute shopping, use up any of your leftover snack credits if you are on the dining plan, have lunch and sadly head back to your resort.

DME will pick you up three hours before your flight. I always fly out in the evening. On departure day I usually go to all four parks to ride my favorite rides with the last park being MK

We normally check out and have a late breakfast this trip it's Whispering Canyon then heading to DTD for last minute shopping. Since we are driving ourselves we are thinking of a late lunch in DTD as well before we hit the road.

DTD is a good idea too... Last chance for spending whatever is left of you're vacation money before heading back to the real world :(

If you have a ticket for that day, it is good until the parks close. :)

I always went to a park before leaving for the airport. :)

We time it so we hit MK for a few last rides, grab a last snack, purchase the last souvenir that will fit in our carry on bag, keep a close eye on the time so we make it back for that rotten ME bus that always shows up. Just once I wish I could say, Naaah, take my bags off that bus. I'm not ready to go home yet, lets book another room for one more week.

I'm glad we don't drive ourselves because I would never leave! That takes some serious self-discipline I think. On our last day, we pack, leave our luggage in the front with DME and head to MK for a few more rides. We come back, grab some lunch at Roaring Fork and eat on the bus to the airport. (wow...even writing this right now makes me depressed because it forces me to re-live that awful feeling ).

We have a tradition of going to MK if we have a day left on our tickets. We have also used the last day for our breakfast at Chef Mickey's as it gives everybody something to look forward to at the end of our trip. Beyond that, we spend the last day at Downtown Disney after we checkout of our resort, thereby milking every last minute of our vacation.

I leave it up to the kids. I ask what do you need to see before the bus picks us up. Usually it is DHS for one more Star tour and Tower Drop or Aerosmith depending on how much time we have.

We need time for things to happen.
Yeah your park tickets are good for that entire day.

Us? We do our last sweep of the MK and do everything we possibly can do until the last minute eat, drink and be merry.

Hmm...that's a tough one - walking out those gates...yow, I'm getting depressed just talking about it.

The Seven Stages of Disney Grief: (Play Circle of Life from Lion King While Reading)
  1. Shock & Denial - Wow didn''t we just get to WDW? It can't be time to go home already!
  2. Pain and guilt - Why didn't we do ? (insert ride or attraction) Hide the pain by comsuming numerous DoleWhips and Mickey Ear ice cream bars or spend mega bucks on Disny merch to deaden the pain of leaving.
  3. Anger and bargaining - I KNEW I SHOULD HAVE BOOKED TWO MORE DAYS...maybe I can call the front desk and extend a day or two then call my boss and say I am ill or stcuk in FL.
  4. Depression & Relfection -reviewing pics and videos of the trip on last night and relecting on the events with fond memory pround sadness about returning to the real world. Coming to grips on the magnitue of the vacation to WDW coming to an end. This occurs from moment first item packed to boarding plane.
  5. 5 Upward turn - Start adjusting back to regular life once plane lands
  6. Reconstrcution and working through - Start to return to regular way of life and peeking daily at any special offers on Disny Website.
  7. Acceptance and hope - You are now home and back to work during you day you notice a great dela being offered at WDW resort and you book a trip...LET THE PLANING BEGIN.
It is the circle of life for the Disney Parks fan!
