Pressure washing begins from the lower parts of the sphere. Dirt is pushed up to the higher elevations and will eventually be rinsed off once the cleaning crew gets up there. It's not an easy job.

I have not seen the cleaning done in person but I just described the process. Both the tiles and the gutters under the outer skin become dirty. It's like cleaning the gutters on your house with a hose. Quite a bit of the dirt will end up on your roof. If you have dark colored asphalt shingles, you may not notice the finer dirt. Leaves and twigs will be noticed. However, on the light colored tiles of SSE, all dirt that is washed up there is easily visible.
