JUst got Back had a great time but the violence (not F&W) but MK parade geesh we were all afraid and my 2 and 4 year old got to hear people telling each other to f off, the path to go around the parade needs to be bigger or have security back there. I was next to a grandma that had her 2 granddaughters and she was getting shoved we all wanted to leave and forget the parade but we were trapped with and angry mobs behind us

Whenever I see a parade, I always try to be near or across from Country Bear Jamboree. In the past there hasn't been that many people in that area. I found that out when I took the keys to the kingdom tour, our tour guide said that 98% of people will sit on Main Street to see the parade.

we've had similar problems so we stay away from main st and particularly the hub area...wouldn't go near there if i were on fire and it was the only place with water. it seems the closer to the castle people get around parade or fireworks times the meaner they get and if you're not the very front line you'll never see anything even as an adult and forget kids being able to see anything and there's no way adults in that area will let a kid see. just getting past there is scary to me more so when i have a child with me. funny thing is we've never had any problems at epcot during food and wine but any time we've been near that main st. area it during those times it gets scary and doesn't seem to matter what time of year it is. wish they'd have some form of permanent pathway.

That's why I cut through the stores along Main Street if I am trying to leave. There just is no end to how self centered and obnoxious people can be just to see a damn parade. I believe that Disney is going to construct a new bypass exit for just that reason. It's about time.
In August 2010 myself and a few of my friends were waiting to see the Electrical Light Parade and had stayed in our spots for almost an hour. I would say 10 minutes before it started this mother tried to force her way into our area with her 3 young girls, saying because they are young kids we should move to accomodate them. One of my friends said I don't care we got here first, so the mother got ed off and left.

I'm just curious as to what void is making these people's lives so incomplete that a parade warrants physical aggression and obscenities.

This, really.

For the fireworks being further away is better even. I don't understand being butt to butt in the hub and breaking your neck when you can walk back or to the side a bit and get a great view without the pain.

I am always shocked whenever I see people legitimately angry and violent at disney. Its sad, and usually over stupid petty reasons. This woman fought a mom because she ran into her heel with a stroller (I have thought about doing that as well sometimes..jk I have restraint) this was during the unleash the villains night. Super crazy she got escorted out the park.

It starts with mommy and daddy saying no to a puppy.

All goes downhill from there.

Luckily my kid was never big into the parades at MK. Seeing once was enough for our family. We race around the park now trying to get on as many rides as we can. The parade is the best time for that. While everyone is fighting for a spot we've been on Thunder Mountain for the third time. :) I find that behind the castle is a great place for the fireworks.

I'm what you would call a "Wishes snob!" To get the full effect of the show, you need to stand right in front of the castle, right at the end of Main Street. Too far forward towards the hub and the castle blocks some of the fireworks; too far down Main Street toward the train station, and the buildings on MS block some of the lower stuff; too far off to one side or the other, and you miss the symmetrical effects of some of the pyrotechnics (the shooting stars, etc). Many people know this, so there is a LOT of congestion in that spot. I once watched Wishes from Tomorrwland (close to where the dessert party and preferred viewing is) and it was ok if you just wanted to see fireworks, but really lacked in show quality, ya know? My suggestion to them when they create a new show is to keep this in mind so that you get an equally great effect no matter where you watch it from.

Also, getting a stroller in the Achilles tendon REALLY hurts! :in pain: After about the 5th time, I'm about ready to throw a punch - not that I ever actually would!

And, after carefully staking out a parade spot and sitting there FOREVER, I don't mind if someone at the last minute wants to have their little child stand in front of me - I'll step back a few inches and let them in. But, after you say it's ok, and then they send in teenage brothers and sisters, cousins, and grandma with trays of food to cut in front, well that just frosts my cookies!!:arghh:
