Tiana's Bayou Adventure: Disneyland Watch & Discussion

Is this supposed to open in late summer? I had gotten it in my head this wasn't opening until 2025.
It was listed at one point as "late 2024", but now just says 2024. As @mickEblu said its been thought that would mean like fall/late fall.

Based on how quickly they seem to be accelerating things a late summer opening is not out of the realm of possibilities in my mind. And given that D23 is in August I would think they want to try to have both HM and Tiana open for that.

I wonder if the other store is just the old photo shop or if they re taking half of Pooh’s store too.
Here's the official announcement. Looks like half of Pooh Corner is getting rethemed.

Add another stop to your trip down to the bayou, because two reimagined retail stores inspired by Walt Disney Animation Studios’ “The Princess and the Frog” are coming to Disneyland Resort!

The reimagined merchandise locations coming to Critter Country in Disneyland park will include Ray’s Berets and Louis’ Critter Club. Their stories will further immerse you into Princess Tiana’s story, along with the opening of the attraction, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, later this year.

Take a peek at the just released concept art of these stores from Walt Disney Imagineering, below.

Louis’ Critter Club Retail Shop Coming to Disneyland Park Louis’ Critter Club (currently the left-hand side of Pooh Corner) will be the place to go for apparel, accessories, home decor and more featuring some of your favorite critters and Princess Tiana in Critter Country at Disneyland Park in Anaheim, Calif. This reimagined merchandise location inspired by “The Princess and the Frog” will further immerse guests into Princess Tiana’s story, along with the opening of the attraction, Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, later this year. (Artist Concept/Disneyland Resort)

The first location, Ray’s Berets (currently The Briar Patch), will be the best place for guests to shop for headwear, apparel, accessories, toys and more with firefly Raymond and his firefly kin in the coziest cabin in Critter Country. You’re sure to light up when you see how these bayou bugs have made this home their own!

Traveling further into the land, you’ll come across Louis’ Critter Club (currently the left-hand side of Pooh Corner) where the friends of Tiana’s Bayou Adventure call this local hot spot their home away from home. Louis’ Critter Club is the place to go for apparel, accessories, home decor and more featuring some of your favorite critters and Princess Tiana!

The treats side of Pooh Corner will remain as a destination for must-have merchandise from Hundred Acre Wood, including beloved sweet treats like Tigger tails.

To make way for these exciting enhancements to the land, Critter Country will temporarily close beginning May 1, 2024.

Teams are working hard to bring Tiana’s Bayou Adventure to life, and we’re continuing to invest in the improvement of overall pathways and surrounding areas to help provide a great guest experience when the attraction opens.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will take guests on a musical adventure picking up after the events of the film, “The Princess and the Frog.” Guests will join Princess Tiana and jazz-loving alligator Louis on an adventure through the bayou as they prepare to host a one-of-a-kind celebration during Mardi Gras season where everyone is welcome! Along the way, guests will encounter familiar faces, make new friends, and travel through the bayou as they are brought into the next chapter of Tiana’s story.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure will also feature original music and some familiar tunes from the beloved movie, a sweeping, colorful mural adorning the queue, and so much more! And all of this, of course, is in addition to the already open Tiana’s Palace restaurant and Eudora’s Chic Boutique featuring Tiana’s Gourmet Secrets in New Orleans Square.

We look forward to sharing more details about all of these updates in the coming months, and can’t wait to welcome you to this updated area and attraction later this year – it’s almost time to let the good times roll!

So May 1st closure, does this give us any indication on opening of the stores and the attraction?

I'm still leaning toward an August opening just in time for D23.

No
The Pooh entrance is technically on the eastern side of the train trestle, so they could board things up there and all the construction of the ride entrance and shops would be on the other side. Then they can just put up scrims or walls along the Pooh queue to block the views.

Then again, the queue may be too close to any construction they want to do and will close Pooh for safety reasons. It really depends on what they plan to do. I'm sure the shops will be mostly interior remodels, but they may be wanting to do some configuration changes around the entire land.

That is what I was thinking, unless there is a reason such as they want to do a refurb at the same time or as you said a re-configuration of the land itself, I don't see why they couldn't find a way to keep Pooh open.

Damn. Sweeping mural.

Anyone else read “improving pathways” as getting rid of charm?

Hoping that “improving pathways” doesn’t mean encroaching on Poohs charming outdoor queue. Critter Country only has one large pathway. So to me this sounds like reconfiguring the Pooh meet n greet area.
