Three character meet-and-greet locations are coming to an end at Epcot later this week, and it’s not quite yet known if they it is permanent or if they’ll be coming back or even replaced.

Effective Feb. 14, these three meet-and-greets will be coming to an ending at Epcot:

  • Chip ‘n Dale outside Innoventions West
  • Winnie the Pooh and Tigger in the United Kingdom pavilion
  • Princess Aurora in the France pavilion
That means that Saturday, Feb. 13, 2016, will be the last day for all three of these location

Welp, it's a good thing I caught Chip 'n Dale this weekend. On MDE it says they're supposed to be at Character Spot, which is inaccurate for now, but could provide a clue as to where they're going.

I'm sure this all has to do with cost cutting and things, but Epcot is really running out of things to do. Fewer rides, fewer shows, fewer meet and greets...
And since Soarin' is down for now, rain means both headlining attractions are down!

My understanding is that most of this has to do with balancing the budget and being able to have the proper number of friends required to keep Joy and Sadness meeting from park open to park close, but I guess we'll see if anything else is being added.

Actually if you look at this weeks times guide, they changed the branding of character spot to encompass that whole area in future world west. As in, character spot currently has three separate locations: Mickey & friends, chip & dale, baymax.

It's a shame these are going away and hopefully something will replace them, but...

I'm glad to see Chip & Dale leave Innoventions West. It's really difficult to explain to your kids how you can walk out of breakfast at Garden Grill with Chip saying waving goodbye to your kids and then walk to Innoventions West and C&D somehow beat you there and are already entertaining other guests. Explaining things like this away with "Disney magic" only goes so far...

Well there chipmunks after all, and they move fast.

They are adding/shuffling locations in May:

-Daisy will be moving to Innovations West where Chip & Dale are/were
-Pluto will be moving into Duffy's Old Gazebo where Daisy is currently
-Chip & Dale are going to take Pluto's old entrance location

So we're losing Aurora, Winnie the Pooh, and Tigger but gaining Elsa & Anna (o_O) as of May.

And Joy and Sadness apparently, but why we need to lose the others makes no friggin sense.

Good point. They used to take these things into serious consideration. For example, when they had the character dinner at the Liberty Tree in MK, the characters (Mickey and his friends) all disappeared a little while before a parade featuring them would pass by the windows of the restaurant facing the parade route in Frontierland. I always thought that it was that level of detail and planning that set Disney apart.

In terms of Aurora, maybe they're moving her back to MK when the Frozen gals leave for Epcot.

I doubt it, as another poster said, Aurora has been meeting next to Town Hall in the MK for awhile now.
Also, I could see why they would be able to move Aurora out of France, since Provincial Belle also meets there.
