Re-design a Disney Coaster as a Dark Ride - For Gryffindor!

Space Mountain

Ok just listen to the music above and tell me that wouldn't work in a Disney dark ride? Yes, for this challenge I will rework Space Mountain as a dark ride through the cosmos and journeying to worlds beyond.

Replacing the coaster track with a Spaceship Earth style circular omnimover track rising to the top peak of the Mountain and traveling back down in a slow decline, Space Mountain will begin as you lift off from earth on a futuristic spaceship piloted by Tom Morrow. Your journey will rocket to the moon and include a mission to mars, as you land on these two alien worlds and explore the terrain. Your ship will then lead you to the cold out territories of our galaxy as you rocket past Jupiter and Saturn before eventually leaving the Milky Way Galaxy and looking back on it from afar.

Your journey ends as you rendezvous with a space station in the outer rim which will offer you a teleportation back to tomorrowland (the post show area)

New Innoventions Area - For Gryffindor!

I wish we did this one before we did a whole project on Innoventions in Year 5:p We will design something new for this (tangential to our project before)
Innoventions-west-00.jpg

To redesign the Innoventions area, we must first look at the issue, and that being there isn't much to do for such a wide open space. We need more interactivity in the area, and that means first and foremost, updated exhibits. These will include simulators and the latest technology of virtual reality rooms to provide guests with an experience of a lifetime, sponsored by a variety of venues. In addition, we will also remove the Epcot charcter spots, as they don't fit with the futuristic theme, and re-skin Innoventions East and West with a chrome color on its exterior.

Fruthermore, the light up tiles, which can be seen in the image above, will be enhanced and placed around the entire Innoventions area. That way at night, the ground lights up as you walk around, adding to the futuristic vibe. The Fountain of Nations will also get a new show with the transition, one that provides more impressive water displays and keeps people in the area and entertained.

We will also be replacing all the soda machines in Club Cool with Beverly. That is all.;):D

Replace the Circle of Life in The Land with a New Show - For Gryffindor!

http://www./wp-content/uploads/2016/02/circle-of-life-gallery01.jpg

As much as I like The Lion King, the Circle of Life show is a bit outdated and could use an upgrade. The new show that will be replacing it will be called Earth 2.0 - it will be an educational show, depicting how we can help the environment and ways to prevent global dilemmas in the future. Everything from recycling to preserving our natural resources will be included in the show. So Earth 2.0 doesn't bore people, there will be an original character (like Figment) who narrates and joins in on the show. The name of the character will be...Remy Cycle, an interactive trash can (akin to push) who makes the environment light-hearted and fun while still being an educational film.

2016 Jungle Book Film - Addition Into the Parks - For Gryffindor!

Jungle Book Treehouse

3056512-poster-p-1-want-to-vacation-like-mowgli-in-jungle-book-airbnb-has-treehouses-at-the-ready.jpg

With the success of 2016's The Jungle Book, and with the new show over at Animal Kingdom, the new addition of the film into the parks for this challenge will be replacing Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse in Adventureland with a Jungle Book Treehouse and walkthrough.

As you climb up the tree you will interact with the characters from the film, such as Baloo, King Louie, and more. This will bring some newfound energy to the Swiss Family Treehouse and blend in seamlessly with the rest of Adventureland and the jungle atmosphere. This will also fit nicely with the Jungle Cruise right next door, and is an attraction where you can place an IP, where the IP doesn't overtake the concept of the land as a whole (like other examples of the current day) The Jungle Book Treehouse will give a re-theme to an old attraction in Adventureland and be a nice addition to the park as a whole.

Add a New Attraction to Main Street U.S.A. - For Gryffindor!

original.jpg

As a new attraction on Main Street, the Main Street Cinema will once again become a working movie theater that shows off silent films of the turn of the century. Adding to the ambiance and realism of Main Street U.S.A., the Main Street Cinema will have a working ticket booth, where (for free) everyone will receive a ticket as they enter and be able to view one of many black and white films that they are hosting. The times guide will be outside on the show screen, just like in a real theater, and you'll be able to bring in your Main Street Popcorn with you as well. This will be a great place to sneak into for an hour during one of those Florida Summer rain showers until it becomes sunny again!

Overall, this addition will bring back the quaint and nostalgic feel of Main Street U.S.A. rather than the rat race and commercialized street it can sometimes become.

Add a New Restaurant Anywhere in WDW - For Gryffindor!

snow-stormers-00.jpg

Snowed-In Ice Cream Shop

Adding to the wintry, snow filled theme of Blizzard Beach will be an ice cream shop called Snowed -In. Original themed to a hot chocolate stand for the people after the ski resort was built, the owners had to quickly change course once the sun came back out and melted the snow away. Adding to the backstory you can see the hot chocolate sign hastily crossed out and replaced with ice cream. This shop will be a treat for all guests after riding the slopes and being out in the heat. This air-conditioned environment will be a great stop right next to Tike's Peak, the water play area for children at Blizzard Beach.

There will be space for rotating exhibits about new things going in WDW similar to what is at DHS. One meet and Greet room will be a theater about Walt, the other will be a space for guests to still meet Mickey Mouse tied in to the Walt era.

Gringotts Bank Challenge- Add Jungle Book to the Parks- For Gryffindor
780x463-jungle-book-7-things-you-cant-believe-arent-real_7.jpg

Joining the ride roster of Animal Kingdom will be a wild ride known as the "Jungle Book River Ride." Taking the space of the former Discovery Boats ride, guests will board their very own Baloo vehicle/raft and have a one-of-a-kind trip around the park. Baloo vehicles will hold up to fifteen guests and will offer shaded covering as well. Looking across the banks of the river, guests will see not only the sights and sounds of the park but also animatronic animals that bring the story of the jungle book to life. If guests look carefully, they may spy Shere Khan stalking through the bushes, King Louie deep within his palace in the distance, and even Kaa coiled in the trees.

While the ride can be used simply as transportation, it also fixes the issue that used to plague the Discovery River boat ride of nothing to see. With tigers, pythons, misting stations, and even a Gigantopithecus there is more than enough to keep guests busy and falling even more in love with Animal Kingdom.

Gringotts Bank of Challenges- Brand New Restaurant

Adventureland just got a whole new groove! Added to the land in 2020 will be Mudka's Meat Hut, a delicious foray into the land of exotic meat.
tumblr_mx3cjhiZvB1qhcrb0o1_1280.jpg

Set up in the manner of a Brazilian steak house but with indigenous flare, Mudka's will specialize in various chicken, beef, lamb, and pork dishes all served table side. Don't forget the a la carte side dishes like soups, salads, and even more meat. Outside the restaurant will be a dedicated meet and greet (or should I say Meat and Greet?) where fans can meet a rotating cast of Yzma, Kronk, and Kuzco.

Gringotts Bank of Challenges- Replacement for Circle of Life- G-R-Y-F-F-I-N-D-O-R

w4.jpg

The Circle of Life attraction has always educated about the important balance between the world and its inhabitant. Well, that will not change when Wall-E treads his adorable little robot self into the pavilion in 2016. This new movie with animatronic additions (think Muppets 3D) will explain how people and plants must co-exist in order for the world to thrive for generations to come. Guest appearances will include Eva and the cleaning robot Mo. WDW guests will leave with a better appreciation for plants and the role they play in this world. Also, guests will learn how an old boot can be reused as plant container =)

Gringotts Bank of Challenges- Re-Design Innovations- For Gryffindor
Welcome to the new Innovations format and appearance: a science fair. Nothing says great minds and innovation like a school science fair and that is what Epcot will bring to its guest when Innovations gets a major overhaul. Rather than separate rooms, guests will walk around and visit different booths while learning about scientific principles and emerging technology. To add even more excitement, three of the stars of the newly refurbished Innovation will be none other than Lewis from the oft-forgotten "Meet the Robinsons" and Hero and Baymax from "Big Hero Six".

Meet+the+Robinsons+Lewis.jpg

big_hero_6__hiro_with_baymax_by_blazinggarnet16-d8dzo9g.jpg

Guests will get to play with magnets, discuss electricity, watch volcanoes erupt (a staple in any science fair) and get excited about the world of academia. The biggest key- science fair booths/displays must change every three months to bring in new ideas and keep this area fresh. The area will feature vibrant colors, white walls, and even a central water feature. Get ready- it's going to be an exciting adventure.

"Mister Postman, look and see, is there a letter in your bag for me?" Replacing Uptown Jewelers (sorry Pandora) will be Main Street's very own certified post office.
Disney.bmp
Here guests can purchase Disney inspired pencils, pens, stationary, greeting cards, and stamps. Guests can mail their post cards or letters home to guests since this is an actual working post office- and what relative doesn't love to get an old-fashioned card in the mail? Looking around the post office guests will notice cubbies in the wall for some of Walt Disney World's most famous residents: Mickey, Minnie, Donald and Daisy, Cinderella, Ariel, Chip and Dale, and even Scrooge McDuck. Using your child's magic bands, cast members who are friends with Mickey can even give your child a letter from Mickey that is personalized to your kid with all the fun things you did or plan to do while on vacation.

A magical time will be had by all in this latest addition to Main Street U.S.A. If you visit, don't forget to write....

A Christmas Celebration Parade!

As for Hollywood studios, I personally have visited around Christmas this past year and while I was there they would have a dance party, this dance party included many rare characters like bolt that came out in their Christmas outfits and danced. This was a huge hit, and everyone seemed to love it. It was something to do when you just wanted to have a good time, or needed some extra time before going to your next attraction. I present a new Christmas themed parade, filled with not only your favorite Christmas characters, but rare characters that we don't get to see as often. This event will not only be a parade, but it's much like move it, shake it, celebrate it, parade. While the parade makes it down the street, different sections of rare characters will have dance parties with the guests with Christmas music playing in the background. Snow will also be able to fall and will be approximately 20 minutes.
Now that sounds like a great idea for a new Christmas parade. Unlike Move it Shake It Celebrate It, I'm picturing the parade to be one of those type of parades with show stops common in Hong Kong,Paris, and the Tokyo parades. But with new floats.

Gringotts Bank of Challenges – for Hufflepuff 1. Add a new show to replace the Circle of Life in the Land Pavilion
mc1

I propose a new movie entitled “You and the Land.” The focus of the presentation would be to alert individuals to the steps they can take in their daily lives to help preserve the environment. For example, being environmentally conscious when they buy things, not wasting food, walk or bike instead of driving, recycling (of course) and promoting a lifestyle that is healthy for you and your neighbors. The Lion King characters have been the focus of Circle of Life for quite some time, and I would propose replacing them with Judy and Nick from Zootopia as hosts for this new presentation. Rather than intersperse cartoon characters over real images (as the current film does), the entire movie should retain the focus of an animated feature. To have a little fun at the start of the film, I could envision Nick telling people to “buckle up because we’ll be Soarin’ in just a minute,” but then Judy appears and tells Nick, “This isn’t the Soarin’ ride.”

Gringotts Bank of Challenges – for Hufflepuff 2. Re-design a Disney coaster as a dark ride or re-design a Disney dark ride as a coaster
mc2.jpg

The Big Thunder Mountain Railroad would make a great dark ride. There are so many vistas of the Old West that speed by when you ride the roller coaster, but which could be captured within the confines of a dark ride. I envision using the new trackless ride system that allows more versatile movement of the ride car, thus evoking a bit of jerky movement you might remember from the roller coaster. Within the dark ride, visions of sturdy ranch house appear before we travel out onto the Mesa and see mountains in the distance. Tumble weeds swirl in our path, the wind whips through the cactus, and we pass scenes of skeletons in the desert alongside wild life that thrive in the desert mountains.

Gringotts Bank of Challenges – for Hufflepuff 3. Re-design the aesthetics of Innoventions, walkways, exteriors, etc.
mc3

So much about the current design of Innoventions makes it seem an “optional” part of the Epcot experience. Epcot was intended to serve as a showcase to the world for creative new ideas in technology, but it’s possible to spark the imagination with small doses rather than rely on massive time-consuming exhibits that most people rush past. I would open the entire space (the hallway pictured above often looks that deserted) to displays such as might be found at an annual consumer electronics show—highlighting creative ideas for home, office, exercise, and entertainment. I would eliminate the large archways that currently funnel visitors to the east and west side of Future World, and make more entryways into Innoventions, with broad aisles surrounding the exhibits/displays as noted above. Even if someone is dashing to ride Soarin’ they’ll have exposure to great ideas as they pass by, and they may even be tempted to stop at a display or two.
