Have you ever been to Uni to the WWoHP? I'll be interested to hear your experience when you get back. I was going to add a day there for our trip, but day tickets there with the park hopper are SOOOOO expensive and there's not much the kids would be able to do, so it's not worth it yet. But someday I want to see the Diagon Alley section and ride the Hogwarts Express. I just introduced my kids to HP this year, to the first 3 books/movies. They LOVE it, but it will be a few years before they get to read the later books, so we'll plan a trip when they are older and can appreciate more.

Guilty. I don't remember how old your kids are?

Polka band? That must have been fun! We never had a polka band or any band at my church--just occasional organ music. Oh well. Anyway, I hope that you enjoyed your church service today. :)

Meanwhile, I went to church this morning (no polka band . . . ). Sitting in front of me, was a mother, and her three teenaged kids. No sooner did Mass begin, when one of them turns on her smartphone . . . and then her brother turns on his. They started showing each other pictures from the phones . . . Every now and then, they'd turn off the phones, but the phones were on, more than they were off. What particularly frosted me was that the mother saw this going on, and she did not say or do anything to stop it?!! :banghead:

MIL always made her older teens go to church. The sermon one day was on not forcing the older ones to go to mass as they are not likely to continue to attend mass when they are on their own then. Her boys had the choice then. 2 are now Lutheran and one is a non practicing Catholic. They all really had enough by the time they were done with Catholic Schooling and an over the top devote Mom. Funny, my FIL was Lutheran and he never ever went to Church.

Very rough. Still just a massing model needing more tweaks, and with no materials, colors, or textures. It will be much prettier after all that, and it is taken to Piranesi.
So fun to do...! :)

That's one home?? :jawdrop:

I do like snow, but I've got so much more to get done before winter and, unfortunately, it is approaching much too quickly.... I've got 2 of the hydraulic rams from the tractor in for repair, so at least I'll be able to clear the driveway with it, but I still need one more cutting off the hay and alfalfa fields to feed the critters through winter....

I definitely want the critters to be able to eat this winter, so I promise to refrain from doing any snow dances. Can't say the same for @MR FERRET, though.

DLR TR Part 2

After Big Thunder I decided to have a snack, and I had just learned about the Matterhorn Macaroon recently, so headed to Jolly Holiday Bakery Café. Looking at my receipt, it was time-stamped 11:05am, so I had already hit 4 rides in my first hour – woohoo! I got a soda to wash down my macaroon (it always blows my mind how expensive it is – I could have gotten a 12-pk for the price of a small soda), and sat at a table outside with a little view of the castle. I enjoyed the macaroon, not too sweet, very chewy and dense. I really didn't even need the frosting. Thumbs up! :hungry:

My FP for Space Mountain was going to end at 11:40am, so I made my way over there and I was the only one in line, which was pretty cool.

A couple pics of the empty line and another one inside.

Then I decided to go on Matterhorn for the 3rd time (grabbing a FP for Buzz Lightyear on the way) and this time I got a bit splashed at the end, which surprised me since that didn't happen at all the first 2 times. Weird. Next, I went on It's A Small World. I love this ride and the song, I never get sick of it. I do like DL's version better than WDW, though. I don't know if it's because I'm so used to this version, but I definitely think the outdoor façade is much prettier (and bigger, of course), plus it just feels more immersive to me.

After IASW, I thought I'd check out Toontown, even though I've never been a big fan of it. I definitely wasn't going on Roger Rabbit, though, so I decided to go on Gadget's Go Coaster, since it's a cute ride.

Next, I decided to hop on the train to Tomorrowland and do some window shopping, since I had free time before my Buzz FP.

You could have your very own 60th headphones for only $65!

On to Buzz Lightyear, which I didn't really need a FP for, since standby wasn't very long, but oh well. And I was a little bummed by my score, as I thought I was hitting a lot of stuff. :( But it was still fun, as always, even though it did stop a few times during the ride.

Anyway, I think this is a good spot to conclude part 2. TRs are hard work (but fun)! :cat:

Been following that IL story about the 3 officers. Just today in MA, there was a police officer driving along a road in his cruiser, and was shot at random, by a guy in a pickup truck. Cop crashed into a tree and the cruiser went up in flames. He was rescued and rushed to a local hospital; no report yet on his condition. There's a manhunt going on now in MA. I don't know what this world is coming to.
Yes it's very sad. Last year when the cops were ambushed in Pa and that person was on the run for 2 months I was a bit scared as nobody knew how far he had gotten! Did he get across the Delaware? My neighborhood has some extra patrols. I was weird seeing police cars on my street daily. I hope that never happens again! My niece who lived over by there couldn't get into her house for 2 weeks, she got a police escort to get some things and her dog, she had 5 minutes to grab what she needed and only got in because of the dog.
