Soarin' Expansion and new Soarin' Around the World film

I never notice the Soarin' building without looking for it either. EPCOT has plenty of other things to grab our attention more than a boring blue curved roof.

What color would work better?

Transparent?
True, but in that it's a theater that needs to be dark inside, that is not possible with our current technology.

I once heard that the best way to hide a house in the woods is to make it of mirrors. Wonder if the same could apply here.

Yea, then we could see the back of Canada that would be fun.

Please tell me they're going to do something about that sight line from across the lake viewing Canada and the UK? That new huge building looks hideous :(

Regarding the structure, will the third theater connect to and extend the existing structure, maintaining the current shape and form? Alternatively, will the third theater be appear as an annexed structure?

FYI, the digital upgrades at DCA are phenomenal. Add in presumably a sharper picture and soarin 2.0 should be a great attraction. It has also raised my hopes for the Avatar simulator as well.

It can be argued that it isn't an upgrade to go from IMAX on film to 4k digital. https://illusion0flife.wordpress.co...n-and-soarin-over-californias-digital-update/

If the film reel had got replaced more often and cleaned up then the film quality should be better than digital.

Not sure if you're being sarcastic... do you mean this building?

If so, what you're seeing there is the blue Soarn' building that has been there all along, supporting what we've been saying how most of us just don't notice it. The new Soarn' building being built is the sliver of brown construction beams you can see peeking over the left/top of it.

The colors mute a bit, when looking at it across the pond. It could be part of the sky behind Canada. Where it sticks out is the side view you get from China

Blink, blink. Breathe, breathe. Day in, day out.
When I was there in July with NYFA, we parked right next to the third theatre construction. It was just the frame and concrete. Nothing has been added according to the photo just posted.

How is it that Universal can do this in a couple of months

But its taking Disney SEEEVERAL months to construct a warehouse? Not even done with the exterior...? It makes me sad XP

Is the answer that you want that Disney sucks now and Universal is better?:bored:

It is just a valid point in this situation. :p Honestly, how long does it take to build this?

While not forgiving WDW by any means but how many construction projects going on in the WDW resort vs. Uni Resort? Too many to count for WDW and I believe 3 (counting Kong, hotel, waterpark)

When talking in park construction there are still 4 parks all with active construction in WDW and 1 with active construction at Uni

Much easier to see the needle in the haystack...

However, with Shanghai opening its first, I can definitely see why a late 2016 date is set for this project.

You in a rush? You know it's not a new ride, right? Regardless of this project, they will premiere the new video when they are ready. If they rushed this, we'd just have three theaters with the current video. I doubt anyone here waits in the 240-minute lines and would benefit from 2017's 160-minute lines, so what's the rush?

You gotta figure this will open slightly before Frozen so that they can add capacity to Soarin' (probably won't even make a dent in the amount of poeple that will be waiting for Frozen)

If what you're saying is that Disney would get things done faster if they focused at one thing at a time.. Then I completely agree.

By all means there is no rush. Except for the fact that it's always more than an hour, sometimes an hour and a half to ride this thing. There are like only 3 headliners at Epcot and it takes forever to get on those three attractions because of that. The third theatre would help so much, yet it is taking forever for them to make it.

Yup... Just supported that statement lol... I was talking about the blue/silver building in that pic... Feel bad I didn't notice it before lol...
