Or a "battle of the bands" type thing
Actually, according to TMZ, it wouldn't be Katy Perry, but some other artist that they would have to pay in-kind in a promotional deal.
But in the end, we all know Idol will go with some one-time A-lister who is now a B- or C-Lister who has name recognition but not a gig.
And the story is not logical in that the cost to re-overlay RnRC would be about the same to just simply pay a big-name artist. Parks and Rec isn't going to spend $10 million dollars for an overlay because an ABC reboot can't afford it and then get virtually no reward for doing so.
Obviously the Rock 'n' Rollercoaster shouldn't be rethemed, but changing it to another band/artist is better than changing it to a movie franchise, in my opinion. If you want to directly compete with Universal, don't get rid of all musician presence and leave UO golden with Rip Ride Rockit. One of Disney's grave mistakes is that, by going heavy on movie franchises, they're failing to attract other markets.
Neither is Aerosmith. Neither is The Twilight Zone. Neither is Avatar.
Even though the source material may not be Disney, the attraction is absolutely Disney, since it's part of a Disney theme park.
But then Disney would be an amusement park!
Indeed, and if it ain't broke, don't fix
The only way I'd be okay with a retheme is if they got this and played it on loop.
This doesn't even read like a fact, just a speculation of a possible way they could lure talent.
