All kiding aside, this is one of the projects I have to keep tightest lipped about. What I can say is that, of the pads that have been shown, it is on pad 4, 5, or 6. Said pavillion will have one major attraction. At least one pavillion will gain an attraction.

PS: Now that I think about it, in a weird, convulted, cryptic way, Fuller House does tie in a bit to the plan.

humm... No mention of pads 2 & 3... Perhaps some tie into CBR down the road isn't completely off the table.

If they are gonna do a Netflix Original show tie-in, could we please get a "Narcos" attraction in Mexico Pavilion?

Okay, sorry for the delay (the combination of feeling under the weather and my laptop choosing to restart pushed my plans around). Here are some details of the Swiss pavilion's village:

I think the real issue is what could Switzerland provide that wasn't already provided in Germany? I know they each have their own cultures, but they are very similar.

Next up, the insane premise of the Matterhorn ride

There were two concepts planned for Matterhorn, though the second sounds like it was created by the people who made the original DCA. The Matterhorn should have a simple story of bobsledding. Both of these proposals look like someone took the concept of Future World and dropped it into a bobsledding race.
The concept of the ride was that you were entering a secret Swiss bobsledding training camp.

The Matterhorn would have been 192 feet high.

Guests would then walk through caverns and snowbanks to get to...

Guests are loaded into their bobsleds, and off they go!

All of these 'outdoor' scenes actually take place inside of the show building.

Guests would dodge an avalanche and pass under another bobsled.

Guests unload, and pass by a scenic view of the Matterhorn and a lake before departing into a tourism center.

The second proposal is where it got a little on the weird side...
Everything starts out nearly identical to the first proposal. Same queue, same mountain. Except now, you're going through a high tech bobsled simulation???
The lift hill is like Space Mountain... o_O

Nothing says 'Swiss' like 'tubular waveform'....

And then it ends like the first proposal. Back at the tourism center.

Yikes! The first proposal was not that bad if they just dropped all the hi-tech command center stuff, but this one... NOPE.

I'd very very very very much doubt these pads would be used for that.
Well for those 2 in particular, almost anything would be better than what is there now. Other than the little bit of nifty rock work around there, that area is the lamest part of WS imo.

I agree. But I very very very very much doubt they'd be used for anything not park expansion related.

Not since the canal link was axed.

We had an ice storm here and most of the city is without power. I have power, but work is closed. What does one do? Post on wdwmagic, and watch video on my laptop. View attachment 186071

And now, back to our regularly scheduled discussion thread. Hey, how 'bout those expansion pads? :)
Martin's videos are the best!! I am glad there is documentation on all these attractions... So nice to be able to see some of the backstory...and in cases like Horizons, the backstory was fascinating! Bravo Martin!

Thank you.

I've mentioned it already, but I'm currently re doing my original Futureworld edits. More material, far better quality. And Horizons is being worked on right now.

Thanks for sharing this!

Can I just say how much I approve this design. You go from Germany, North of the Alps, to Switzerland in the thick of things, and then onto Italy in the South. It's also worth noting how the Matterhorn complements Italy, which itself is a mountainous country. Just so very very clever. It would've been a logical geographic progression. It reminds me of Mount Prometheus, with that mountain playing different parts in different lands.

It all makes it seem like there's lost story there.
