The Planning Commission website is showing that the Hotel Menage is asking for a total remodel of the Hotel, not building anything new, just a total gut job of rooms, lobby and all interior spaces.though..... Submitted October 19th.

OK, Friday I posted the permit for construction at the former HOB site. It said:

Description: DTD - Bldg C - Pkg 2 - Partial Foundation to expand footprint of existing building that was demolished, primary steel and partial slab on 1st, 2nd, 3rd floor for future 3 story building.

Today, that permit has been altered slightly and now says:

Description: DTD - Bldg C - Pkg 2 - Partial Foundation to expand footprint of existing building that was demolished, primary steel and partial slab on 1st, 2nd, 3rd floor, existing basement to remain for future 4 story building. (NEED TO KNOW THE NAME OF BUSINESS TBD)

So, a basement level and 3 (maybe 4) floors above that. And they are not saying what the business is just yet. Interesting.

It looks like that is addressing the "bridge" area over Disneyland Drive.

So things like the stands (limit of 10 aka canopies???)

That is an educated guess.

Or, could this be the beginnings of the new expanded security perimeter scheme? This is a less than educated guess, but terms like Egress plans, temporary fences, and canopies bring up visions of the current security situation and make me wonder about the similarities...

Let's do some Blue Sky, if Disney does this, I presume it would be the area near the Rainforest Cafe, and eliminate the Monorail security check.

But you would also have to add acess to the restrooms next to the Lego store, and then near Sephora for the GCH, but the big one is the Mickey & Friends Tram and public sidewalk next to it. You have an easy to open emergency gate now near Wetzel Pretzels. And then deal with security for both, you could move the security to near the structure, but you can't change the sidewalk, since it is only on the east side near the tram tour. A lot of work, and maybe the need for more staffing, not less.....

Let me add, currently the Tram Loading area at Mickey & Friends is a mess in the morning, so much so I have seen Disney turn off the escalators due to the back up just to board the trams. So I see it would be hard to set up a security check next to the escalators and restrooms.

Couldn't that be for the walkway and tram route directly behind House of Blues? If they need to demolish that building, which will be messy, they would need to secure emergency access around the construction walls.

Sounds like a good reason... I based the "bridge" on the 1500 S Disneyland Dr address.
