Trip Report Merry Christmas You Filthy Animals! A Live Christmas Trip With The Inlaws.

You all knew this was coming, just a down and dirty live TR with the inlaws this Christmas week. So, strap in and get ready because here we go...

Naturally I told the folks we would be leaving at 05:00 this morning so be ready. You can see one guy didn't want us leaving. We were up at 04:25 and all packed and ready....except the MIL. She seemed to want to play the "let's see how many things we can touch in the house before leaving" game. My crew was ready to roll by 04:50 but we had to wait until about ten after five before her game was over... a quick stop at dunkin donuts and we were well on our way. We hit the half way spot, Tifton, about 09:00 to gas up and hit the restrooms. Over the hump and determined we pulled into the Panara Bread on 192 about 12:30 for lunch. While we ate I got the text our room was ready!!

Next we made for the Hambre trail and saw a lot of Gorilla action! After the trail we decided to eat at the smiling crocodile. The DD went with the drumstick, naturally, and potato salad. Laura and I each had the grits bowl which I must say we're fantastic! We then made our way back to EE so the DD could pick up a shirt she wanted. After that, we made for the exit via the ToL.

Noticed the DD Drumline shirt. What does she play? My son is in the drumline. He plays snare. He thinks he's the coolest kid ever.
When she marches its cymbals. When it's concert it's a whole slew of things that @imahistorygeek could better explain. To me it's all just hitting things with sticks. And, yeah, she's pretty hot sh#! now. The Band cliques are pretty epic.

She plays things like snare, timpani, zylophone, marimba, bells, and suspended cymbal. She's hoping to play a bass drum in marching next year. She believes she's all that. :D

The grits bowl was really good. My only real issue was that it was a tad greasy. However, that didn't stop me from eating it. It's definitely snack size. You'll need something else to go along with it.

We've had some really good meals this trip.

I made my parents reservations for lunch at Prime Time Cafe for lunch. I told them it was really good and they would enjoy the theming. They grew up in the 50s. They enjoyed it but it was too much food. I told them to split an entree but server talked them into a meal a piece.:grumpy:

Loved the Everest video! Now that's the kind of excitement I want in a roller coaster! (It's one of my favorite rides in all of WDW--I love the SPEED and the deep banked turns, the backwards track in one area, etc.) I mean 7DMT is fun--but I like the really fast and steep roller coasters!

So the park was starting to let out as we entered the park. We came across the same photographer CM at the tree out front that we mer on the EE bridge. I asked the ladies for a few pics and they obliged. We then made our way to Dinosaur which was a walk on. The whole dino land area was busy! We still had 35 minutes til dinner and one EE FP to burn so we set our sight on everest agian. Standby was 45 minutes but we walked right in. I've got to say, EE at night is pretty awesome! About 80% of the ride is pitch black and that just added to the excitment

This is our last evening. It's been a really good trip. We've had a lot of fun and we got to try a new restaurant AND elk.

A lot of our plans were changed based on what my parents wanted to do, but in the end, it was good for all of us. I don't think it would have worked well if we all tried to stay together. They did their thing and we did ours.

Sophie mentioned that we did not have the "big argument" this trip. She's right. We didn't. We all just went with the flow. These types of trips work better when we all just chill out.

So, would we bring the parents again? Honestly, I don't know. Cost and mobility are huge factors for them. They mentioned on more than one occasion how expensive everything is and they can only go a couple of hours at a time.

After our dance with the Yeti it was time to eat with the Yeti. The DD went with sweet and sour chicken while Laura and I shared the Dim Sum, Veggie Lo Mein, and Chicken Fried Rice. The service and food were very good. The portions were large and prices were good, especially with out DVC discount.

Who are you calling "out there" @Zipitidoda ?? ;):p Band alumni here! I played drums also.. obviously the best section in any band.
lol. Awww come on. If your Alumni then you totally understand. Whenever I step in the band room I never know what I'm going to see or hear. I do agree though, Drumline is the best section but don't tell my girls they both play Alto's.

Breakfast at Sanaa time. I tried to get better pics of the food area this time. We shared a banana bread, I went with the savanna platter, and Laura had the Mickey waffles. The last pic is to show a difference we noticed with bread service the other day. The cup on the right is what the accompaniments once came in, the cup on the left is what they come in now...
