MagicBands and Magical Express

So Disney sent a MagicBand for my baby and I'd like to deactivate it so she can wear it just for fun with no worries if it were to get lost. Do I need to keep it active long enough to be her "ticket" for Magical Express, or can I shut it down now and they'll let her on DME without it?

When arriving you only need to scan one Band for your entire group. (Or one Band per hotel reservation if you have multiple reservations)

I agree with Rob. I was with a group of adults and only one of us needed to tap the ban for all of us to board DME.
