Haunted Mansion "secret hallway" question...

Okay, I just watched a recently posted video on YouTube, of a "secret hallway" in the (WDW) Haunted Mansion; supposedly accessed somewhere between the Foyer Entrance, and the Graveyard Exit. I’d really, really, really like to know if this is "legally" accessible by the public. :veryconfu If anyone knows any information, please let me know! Thanks a gazillion! :king:

P.S If it’s not legally accessible, please know that I have short-term memory loss, and that I probably won’t remember being informed of this, until I’m standing in the hallway with my digital camera, full memory card, and standing face-to-face with a CM :D. (Hopefully the girl with the dark hair, that always seems to be the one opening the door when I go!)

I believe that the "secret" hallway to which you refer is accessed via the exit of the attraction. That is to say, you go past the wall of tombs and there is a door directly to your left as you reach the building. We were escorted through this hall on our last trip as we were traveling with a woman with very limited mobility. Instead of having her stand in the queue they took us through the hallway (which is perfectly themed to the rest of the mansion... very creepy) and we entered directly to the doombuggy load area if I am recalling correctly. The CM waited until the previous group had passed and the doors to the stretching room had closed before letting us in.

The "secret hallway" is typically used for guests in wheelchairs or scooters. Also, depending on the CM, some people with young children use it to bypass the "preshow" area before you load because their kids get scared of the preshow elements. This is less rare, and most people do not know that the CM will let you use the hallway if your kids are too scared and just want to get to the load area, but as I said it depends entirely on the CM you ask. Hope this helps!

If it's what I'm thinking of, this "secret hallways" is the door near the exit marked "servants quarters" and also known from just outside the stretching rooms as the "chicken exit." Well-themed, and accessible to guests by essentially just asking a CM.

They're one in the same... chicken exit on the stretching room side leads into the hall, which is labeled on the other end as "servant's quarters."
In unkadug's pic, the hallway I'm referring to is above the "mickey" (stretching rooms and foyer) and below the sharp curve in the omnimover track.

There's apparently another hall from the foyer all the way over to the exit, don't know anything about that one.

I've been in here. We had one of those "golden tickets" that CM's write when you have a bad experience on a ride or something. [I believe they're called golden tickets]. Since there was no fastpass line, they took us through here. I was also told that it is also used a VIP entrance.

When we were there in 06, we entered in through that way. It took you right to the front of the stretching room. It was fit with the theming of the ride, dark, spooky looking walls and a few doors with names on them written in a cryptic sort of way. Not really a secret, I suppose, if you have been in it.:)

Hallway

The hallyway was recently "rehabed" (in the past 6 years) it used to not fit the theming at all as it was a standard cast member hallway. However, people with mobility problems and ones being VIP'd onto the ride where being taken through there. Not very Disneylike.

The hallway is very cool. I went thru it a few times during the commercial shoot of the new updated ride.
It had keys for certain rooms (most were missing), room bells (not real), and then behind a curtain was the breakroom. The breakroom was pretty much disgusting.

unkadug, that map is pretty awesome! I've never seen that!

I just signed up for the Keys to the Kingdom tour, and I've heard & read that the HM is one of the attractions that you ride & learn things about. I'm hoping that the secret hallway is part of this! I'm glad to see another poster mentioned this too.

Wasn't this hallway on Sam Brown's favorites on the travel channel recently? I could be wrong...I thought it was shown briefly.

I have been in the hallway before when i was in a wheelchair. If you cant walk very far they will let you get on at the exit. If you can walk some they take you through the hallway and you join the line after the portrait room.

You do go on the HM during KTTK the way you get into the attraction is via the "Entrance Quarters". BTW, if you get Michael or Matthew as your tour guide you are in for a treat. They are both very good. Out of the 2 Matthew is my fav.
