Haunted Mansion having serious problems 12/6 and 12/8

Just a quick update. The Haunted Mansion was having some serious issues with the doombuggies. We rode twice on 12/06, the first time was perfect, saw the great upgrades (especially the bride) and the rest of my family finally got to experience what I have been bragging about all these years. The second time we rode, the doombuggies stopped while we were in the Madame Leota scene. We were stuck there for probably 10-15 minutes before finally, the lights came on and cast members showed up to release us from the doombuggies. I must say it was really cool walking out lights on. Everything else was working, except the doombuggies. I tried to shoot some video as we were walking out, I don't know how good it is yet but if it's anything worthwhile I will try to share it.
So we go back to MK on 12/08 and rode it three more times. The first two rides the doombuggies stopped again for a few minutes then finally began moving again. Then finally the last ride was a full ride thru without interruption. Has anyone else recently experienced these problems? Perhaps they only updated the effects and not the transport system.

Also, when we were at Epcot on 12/7 the moving theater in Ellen's Energy Adventure crapped out on us in the dinosaur scene and we had to be escorted out of that attraction as well.

Expedition Everest: no steam at load, no mist, bird was working 2 out of 4 rides, 1 waterfall working but Yeti was in glorious A mode.

These experiences did not ruin our trip in any way. Hey, Things happen, and we love the World.

YUp, sounds like the Mansion was having mechanical problems...unfortunately, when that happens it is usually 4 - 5 days until they get the problems repaired...if you are there for a couple of those 4 or 5 days, it can make riding something that isn't functioning properly miserable -- but hopefully they have it fixed by now.

Ellen's ride, on the other hand, breaks down all the time and has for 20 years...unfortunately, you were on one of those breakdown trips - sheer coincidence it happened on two rides for you.

Now that you mention it, I was there and rode HM about 5 times during the first few days in December. On the night of December 1, I think, the ride stopped for about 10 minutes. I was stuck in the hitchhiking ghost area and a CM eventually came through w/ a flashlight. I just assumed some idiot had tried to jump out or maybe was doing something to try to sabotage the scenery and that somebody had to intervene. Eventually the CM came back around and the ride started again.

I rarely have ridden HM in recent years without the ride stopping at least once during the experience. I usually just assume they're stopping it to load handicapped guests.

Yup, when we went to ride HM during MVMCP on 12/11 we had to wait for maybe about 10 minutes at the load area before we could ride due to the doombuggies stopping not once, but twice. We felt like we were close to having to turn around and leave once, but they finally got them started up again after a lot of running around with flashlights.

That same night we got stuck on TTA while inside SM and that time we did end up having to be evacuated and walk the path from inside SM to a stairway that led down to the sidewalk beside SM.

What a wacky night!

Hey Doombuggy13 - I'd love to see your video of the HM with the lights on. Let us know if it came out. Thanks .

We were on HM on Dec 5th and it stopped for a couple of minutes, presumably just to load or unload a disabled person. But what was really cool about it was that we stopped right next to the bride. Thus we were able to hear ALL of her various phrases.

Then a little later in the afternoon BTM came to a stop while our train was at the mine cave-in part. We had to be evaced out through all the inner workings of the mountain. It made for a memorable ride.

Yes someone set off the floor sensors which stopped the ride.

could've been worse...

you could've been riding small world ;)

I had buzz lightyear stop on me and we had to re-watch 1 scene in COP. Stopping in Buzz was a little let down as you realise that most of the ride is just cut outs...would've been 10 times better w/ AA's

We rode HM 12/8,12/10,12/11--a couple of times we stopped (no longer than 2 mins. each time). We got some really good looks at the graveyard, the floating candlestick, and Madam Leota!

Some doombuggies were making a very loud banging noise in the area where the vehicle meets the omnimover track. There was maintenance personnel in load and unload checking the problem and they'd stop the attraction once in a while to get a closer look at the cause of the noise.

we got stuck on Haunted Mansion once. It was a couple years ago though. We got stuck right as it turns around and goes backwards. made it really hard to get out of the doom buggy. it was funny though. My aunt had just looked around the doom buggy when the CM came over to let us out and scared her. He appologized over and over...I couldn't breathe I was  too hard

The last time I rode it (about 3 weeks ago I think) our doombuggies stopped twice during the ride, for about 3 or 4 minutes each time. I didn't think much of it at the time, but it's interesting to hear that it's been happening alot lately.

Eeh, was stopped several times on Buzz Lightyear, lost the score twice, lights came up in the speed room, was stuck for 15 mins, and loud repetitive Zurg phrases...not fun.

I've never been evaced off a ride at WDW. I've been on HM before where it's stopped for a few minutes, probably to load a guest with a disability onto the doom buggy.

Just slightly off topic, but friends were there 12/2 and said the audio and Madame Leota were out of sync. Has anyone else noticed this?

We heard that noise last week, and were wondering just what the heck it was! I don't think we had more than 1 stoppage on HM last week when we rode, although other members of my family rode a lot more than we did. I also noticed an out-of-sync Leota earlier in the week. It wasn't bad, maybe 1/4 second out-of-sync. Most people probably didn't even notice.

Test Track was the most interesting ride. On Friday Dec 7 (I think), our car went around the hairpin turns at about....1 MPH. We sped up again just in time for the big dip, and when we turned the corner to stop before hitting the open road (so to speak), we smelled a nasty burning rubber-ish smell.

We also stopped inside Space Mountain while on the TTA, but were underway again in a few minutes. We were thinking some idiots were being.... well, idiots, and got tossed.
