With all the work happening at TTC Etc, a thread seems necessary for ideas about the future of the monorail system.
A dedicated resort monorail for resort guests would be ideal IMO. Basically it would be a system for MK resort guests and those with resort dining reservations. All riders would need enabled magic bands or similar device. Disney should add key fobs or lanyards for those not into making a magic band fashion statement.
Monorail on this loop would serve the MK, CR, TTC, Poly and the GF. Monorails would be named and elaborately themed to each resort rather than the traditional 'color coding'. For instance a futuristic theme, or south Pacific theme etc.
This would be a great way to add value to a MK resort stay and allow the monorail to serve MK resort guests well into the future no matter how much the MK resorts expand.
Guests utilizing the MK parking lot (or future MK parking garages) would utilize the ferry boats or busses. The other monorail track would be used during peak periods as a TTC/MK express service for those transferring to or from the TTC or Epcot line. Again though, limited to those with magic pass technology.
