Here it is the very first official image of Tiana, the newest Disney Princess. The movie will open in Theaters in 2009. So what do you all think. I think they could have chosen a better picture, but it still looks beautiful to me.

Walt Disney Pictures has revealed this first photo of princess Tiana in the studio's traditionally-animated The Princess and the Frog, coming to theaters in 2009. The movie is written and directed by John Musker and Ron Clements and features the music of Randy Newman.

A musical set in the legendary birthplace of jazz -- New Orleans -- "The Princess and the Frog" will introduce the newest Disney princess, Tiana (voiced by Anika Noni Rose), a young African-American girl living amid the charming elegance and grandeur of the fabled French Quarter. From the heart of Louisiana's mystical bayous and the banks of the mighty Mississippi comes an unforgettable tale of love, enchantment and discovery with a soulful singing crocodile, voodoo spells and Cajun charm at every turn.

She looks similar to the concept art picture that I saw a while back. Looks okay....I don't know yet though. I need more.

That's what I thought too. I wish it would have been more of a close up image of her, but it still is a gorgeous image.

I would be really surprised and disappointed if the Haunted Mansion didn't make a cameo appearance in The Frog Princess.

How is Tiana pronounced? Is it "tee-ana" or "tie-ana" or something else?

*sigh* there are no crocodiles in New Orleans...only alligators. Should be interesting to see how many stereotypes of New Orleans they can manage to fit in, still it's nice to be the main setting of a Disney film!

The original Haunted Mansion is located in the New Orleans Square section of Disneyland, thus making the Haunted Mansion's "home" New Orleans.
