I was watching an episode of South Park called imagination land. I've seen this special before but never put the connection together but I think Dreamfinder is one of the most important characters in the special.

You are correct. Trey and Matt are huge fans of Disney. If you watch their episodes, you'll see all sorts of little references, but yes, that's EXACTLY what they were trying to do with that character.
