Dining reservations

Hi all I am sure this one has been asked a lot but here goes. When booking reservations 6 months in advanced when is the earliest time of day you can do this? Also for the very popular places like "Be Our Guest" is it better to use the online web reservation system or call in your experiences.

Online dining opens at 6 am. The call center opens at 7 am. My advice is to try online first and if you cannot book what you want, call (although calling does not guarantee you'll get a hard-to-snag reservation.)
