So my wife and I are doing the platinum plan at WDW this summer. We plan to try and take full advantage of the package by doing all the extras outside of the parks and the tours inside. I was hoping that the people on this wonderful forum could help me out by telling me about some of the best restaurants on property. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

My favorite places are:

Cape May Cafe (Beach Club)
ESPN Club (Boardwalk)
Chefs de France (France at Epcot)
Concourse Steakhouse (Contemporary)

Jiko (Animal Kingdom Lodge)

O'hana (Polynesian)
Narcoossee's (Grand Floridian)
California Grill (Contemporary)

Best Counter Service:

I'd like to help you, but I learned a long time ago, there is no accounting for taste. Many of the restaurants that I like, others despise and visa versa. One man's trash is another man's treasure.

You are going to love the Platinum plan!!!!
The first restaurant you should make reservations for is Victoria & Albert's.
It is included in you plan and you should not pass up the opportuntiy to go there.
What we typically do with this package is have a character breakfast a few times during the week and have room service for breakfast for the rest of the week. This is easier because you don't feel rushed. For lunch we always choose a sit down restaurant in the park we are in and then we always travel to Epcot for dinner. I have found that there are only a few places worth eating at in each part aside from Epcot anyway. Epcot is the culinary institute at Disney:slurp: and a nightly visit allows you to experience many different foods from all around the world.

If you follow our plan,
-For MK I would eat at Liberty Tree tavern for lunch and Cinderella's Royal Table for dinner.
-For MGM I would eat lunch at either Sci-Fi Dine In Theatre for the ambiance, 50's Prime Time Cafe for fun and home cooked meals, or the Brown Derby for more expensive tastes
-At AK I would eat lunch in the Rainforest Cafe.

Every place at Epcot is great, it's just a matter of what you find appealing.

It all depends what type of food you like and where you are, if you are gonna explore some of the resorts which I always like to do there are lots of great options for dining.

Jiko at Animal Kingdom Lodge is one of my favourites as the food is great and the setting is beautiful, you can go outside and view the animals on the savannah and there is often story telling around the outside camp fire. Boma is also a good option here too if you have large appetites and like to try lots of different things.

Narcoosee's at the Grand Floridian is a great spot, is specialise's in seafood but also offers meat dishes, very romantic setting here and offers a great view for the water pagent and the fireworks at Magic Kingdom. I also agree that if your doing the Platinum and can get into Victoria and Alberts it is a must as this is the most amazing place, I went with a group of friends last year and it was the most amazing dining experiance. If your looking for somewhere nice for lunch too the Grand Floridian Cafe is really nice if you wanna come out of the Magic Kingdom at lunchtime.

The Concorse Steak House and the California Grill at the Contemporary are both very nice and of courese the California Grill offers great views over Magic Kingdom and you can also see Epcot fireworks from their too.

If you head to the Boardwalk and Yacht and Beach Club area there are lots of nice restaurants down there, Big River is one of my favourites. Beaches and Cream is also really nice there but is probably more of a place for a light meal or just for dessert, the kitchen sink is wild.

In Magic Kingdom, Liberty tree tavern is god for lunch but I have never been impressed with the dinner options in the park really unless you like character dining and buffets as crystal palace is quite nice.

In the Studios, I would recommend The Brown Derby as the food and service are great for lunch and dinner. PrimeTime Cafe is also a really fun place to eat. I would avoid Sci-Fi dinner though the food and setting aren't very good, mainly burgers and stuff which you can get from quick service areas.

Animal Kingdom has a lack of table service areas but Rainforest Cafe is just at the entrance and is very nice.

Epcot probably has the most to offer of all the park when it comes to dining and it just depends on how adventurous you want to be. Coral Reef in Future World offers great seafood and a great view but is often overlooked due to its location. World Showcase offers a whole range of delights, Chef de France is a very nice place to eat as is Alfredos. Marakesh is good and offers entertainment while you dine in the form of belly dancers. The Rose and Crown is nice for fish and chips but be warned although the have the outside area they will never garuntee a seat there for the fireworks even with a Priority Seating. All of these are great for both lunch and dinner.

If you are gonna to make a plan of places I would recommend making a Priority Seating at the restaurants especially for dinner as the wait times on a night can be very very long and some may even close to walk ups if they are very busy.

Hope this helps

Yes everyone ought to have the opportunity to be looked down upon becuase they dont drink wine......I wasnt very impressed with V&A's and was wishing we had gone to Le Cellier again instead.

We did the all inclusive honeymoone thing and ate until we were misreble. On top of that, concierge level had food laid out all the time. If we had known, we would not have done the meal thing....

Le Cellier is probably our favorite sit down place to eat in the resorts. My next would be San Angel (Mexico). In the MK, Cindi's Royal table for breakfast and dinner. MGM would be Fifties Prime Time. We have not eaten at Animal Kingdom.

We have done Hoop De Doo and the Luau. I liked the show at Hoop De Doo, but the food was better at the Luau.

You will have a great time and enjoy all the food. Save room for Mickeys Premium Bars....

I love planning my trips to WDW , but in particular , I like organising where we are going to eat during our next stay. There is such a wide choice on offer to suit every individual. Here are a few of my favourite places:
For counter service-
The Earl of Sandwich at Downtown Disney is fabulous! Everyone in our party agrees.
Columbia Harbour House at Magic Kingdom. The food is good fast food in my opinion, (New England clam chowder) and a nice change from normal fare.

Full Service Restaurants-
If you both like seafood, you must visit the Cape May Cafe at The Beach Club. It is delicious, and the desserts are great. It is buffet style, and good value for money.
Victoria and Alberts at Grand Floridian is rated as the top restaurant at WDW. The seven course menu changes daily and service is superb.
Also rated very highly is the California Grill at the Contemporary & Citricos at the Grand Floridian. The atmosphere at the C G is fab, at on the 15h floor of the hotel, the view is pretty good too. Citricos has a Mediterranean menu. The restaurant is one which is less known about, so a good choice, in my opinion.
If you fancy a buffet different from the ordinary, head to Boma at the Animal Kingdom Lodge. Such a variety of food to choose from, and the white chocolate bread & butter pudding is fantastic!Leave time to wander around the resort as there is a lot to see and do.
Narcoosee's, although not cheap, is apparently a good bet for seafood.
Restaurant Marrakesh, in Morocco, Epcot is one of my favorites. Good food, service and entertainment. Worth a visit!
Bistro de Paris is an upscale eatery in France, Epcot. Food is authentic (try the Grand Marnier souffle) but expensive.
Hope that helps you plan your stay!

I would agree with longfamily on the park assessment. Epcot has the best in park variety and should be explored fully. Our favorites are Canada, France, Morocco, Italy and Mexico.

The one thing he left out was the hotels. Others have mentioned them, but Grand Floridian, Polynesian, Wilderness Lodge, Animal Kingdom Lodge and Boardwalk area all have some great restaurants.

In taking full advantage of Platinum, do consider the various tours, water sports and spa's.

You'll have to stay active to walk off all the food however...it can become a bit much trying to take full advantage.

Do Victoria and Alberts early in your vacation to fully appreciate it. Also remember that this is the one restaurant that requires jacket and tie.

You don't really have to have the tie, but Clemson is right, a jacket is required. Don't worry, the place is posh but not uncomfortable. And they do not look down on you for not ordering wine:animwink:

Epcot ... Alfredo's in Italy

Yacht Club ... Yachtsmen Steakhouse

Fort Wilderness ... Hoop Dee Doo Revue (A MUST!)

Have a wonderful time! How romantic to go without kids! We did Disneyland once without the kids and I was fine with it but my darling husband felt guilty the whole time! :0)
