Trip Report **COMPLETED** Our HalloChristmas Adventure

Hey everyone - since I finally finished my other trip report I will get to this super delayed one

Who?
The usuals: my Mom (Mary) and myself (Megan) PLUS special guest --- my Dad (Jeff)!

Where?
The Yacht Club! We actually changed from the Beach Club last minute and I was so excited. We love the Yacht Club way more for some reason and we were excited to share that love with my Dad.

When?
October 29 - November 6, 2021

Why?
My Dad has not been to Disney since pre-COVID so we planned this trip forever ago to bring him back! He does not do well in the heat so we chose a cooler time of year (aka not our July trip) for him

Day 1 October 29, 2021
I got up at 3 am, got ready and waited for my parents to pick me up at 4 am.
Our airport drive and check-in/TSA experience went super fast. We grabbed some bagels for breakfast.

Then waited at the gate.

I assumed this is how all my photos with my Dad would look but he did better

We boarded our plane and left on time! How unusual

Our flight was very easy and we actually landed quite early ! Woohoo!

Day 7 November 4, 2021
We got up around 6:30 am, got ready, and grabbed some breakfast at the Market.
Then we headed to the bus stop.
I wrote down that we were at the bus stop at 7:20 am and a bus came at 7:22 am - perfect!
We were alone on the bus and we did not stop at the Beach Club! Win Win!

I spy Christmas!

The sun looked so cool!

We landed at a RD in Fantasyland.

My Mom and I wasted no time busting out the Woody licorice we are obsessed with

There were quite a few people behind us...

We rope dropped 7DMT (I really slacked on photos this day). We waited about 20 min

Our ride photo did not show up
Then we headed to Space Mountain to hop in line before EMH were over

Day 7 continued

My Dad skipped this one - he doesn't really love Space Mountain (GASP- the horror!)

We waited about 20 minutes for this too!

After this we headed to BTMR!

We only waited 10 minutes which was great!
We stopped for some PP pictures next.

I ended up buying LL for this day - our first one was for Haunted Mansion!

Day 7 continued

Next up was....lunch ! At 10:30 am
We ate at Pinocchio Village Haus again
We got a table by the IASW window!

I had the Caprese flatbread

We got some fries

And my parents each got a pepperoni flatbread

After our very early lunch we headed to our next LL - the Speedway !

My Dad looks so angry

My Mom was posing like this because she always says I am a terrible driver on this ride and she "died"

Then we took a ton of photos...

We decided to go on the teacups next!

We put our candy in our mouths right before we got on for some reason
(My Dad skipped this one too - he does not love spin rides!)

Next up was our Winnie the Pooh LL

Then we wandered out of the park.

Back at the Yacht Club we had some ice cream at Beaches and Cream.
I got a mint chocolate chip and my Mom got a butter pecan.

We did take a break after this at the hot tub mostly because it was getting a little chilly. I did not take any photos . Then we headed back to the MK.

We had a LL for Peter Pan and Buzz. I took zero photos of Peter Pan whoops! This was before they closed this easier LL stacking loophole - which is how I had 2 back to back.

Then we headed back to Town Square.

Day 7 continued
Oh whoops - I forgot about these PP pictures that we took on the way in. We bought these new Spirit Jerseys earlier in the day. Side note - it was nuts at the Emporium since they just released the Christmas Merchandise.
We waited FOREVER for these PP pictures.

Anyway - back to Town Square

Day 7 continued

We were milling around Town Square because we had dinner plans at Tony's! We checked in and we were seated quickly.
We were seated in the atrium.

Bread and oil to start.

We also got the fried mozzarella

My Mom almost immediately spilled on her Spirit Jersey so she proceeded to wear a napkin

Day 7 continued
I was filming my Dad and this CM thought I was taking a photo. When he found out I wasn't he made me take one anyway

Also it looked like our mozzarella was growing a leaf

For dinner my Mom and I got chicken parm with the sauce on the side to share.

And my Dad also got chicken parm

We had the best meal! We were really nervous about eating here because the last time we ate here it was horrible. We were so happy we gave it another try!
After this we wandered out of the MK

Our goodbye for the trip pouty/blurry picture. Except my Dad was happy apparently?

I dragged my parents over to the Beach Club to see if the gingerbread display was up and it was !
Woohoo!
It was so cool - it was Little Mermaid themed

My Mom and I got hot chocolate - it was so good. We were borderline obsessed !
I also got a gingerbread shingle - I love gingerbread!

After this my parents headed back to the room and I stayed on the Boardwalk to FaceTime my boyfriend. It was there I realized we could see Harmonious from our room (way to wait until the last minute to notice this) so I ran upstairs so I could tell my Mom and we could watch it! My Dad was sleeping

Anyway after this it was time for bed!

November 5, 2021 Day 8
We got up at 6:30 am, got ready and grabbed some croissants at the Market
We walked to DHS after this.

There was a light rain along the way but it started pouring as soon as we got there. My Mom and I had ponchos in our bags but my Dad did not so we stopped to buy my Dad one and then ended up buying ourselves some too since they are better quality!
We decided to RD Tower of Terror so we headed over there. There was no line yet (since it was pouring) so we waited under cover.

We ended up joining the line a few minutes before they officially opened the ride. The CMs were discouraging people from getting in line...but it was starting to get super crowded looking so we figured we better hop in.

It was a walk on ...we did not even stop for the pre-show.

Day 8 continued

We decided to go on a second time after this and waited about 10 minutes.

We usually skip Aerosmith because it gives us a headache but the que is inside....so we decided to go on.
We waited about 15 minutes which most of that was the ride shutting down for a few minutes.

It was just around 10 am at this point and SDD still had a short wait so we figured....why not?

We waited only about 20 minutes so that was nice!
However....note to self and everyone else....riding Slinky Dog in the rain is not the most pleasant of experiences I did giggle the entire time though!

We got some Photopass Pictures after this....

After this we saw the Mickey short again and we also rode Runaway Railway with a LL I bought in the morning.
I did not take any pictures...I was feeling too bogged down (literally....with rain). After this we headed to the boat dock to take one home.

Day 8 continued
Back on dry land we headed to the Beach Club Marketplace for some lunch.
We ate our lunch in the Solarium which was nice and relaxing (well it was crowded but there are not a ton of tables so it was spaced out).
My Mom and I got this delicious Mac and cheese.

My Dad had a salad and chili which I apparently did not take a photo of.
My Mom also got a cupcake

And I got some cotton candy

After our lunch break we headed down to the quiet pool....so that we could use the laundry to dry our sneakers
Was it raining and a little cold? Yes.
Are we from Buffalo and the cold does not really bother us? Also yes !
So in the pool and hot tub we went

A Yacht Club light for you...

After our laundry we ended up just sitting in the room and watching tv for awhile.
I have been to Disney on rainy days before but never like this - it did not let up. It was pouring nonstop except for the "lighter" rain we had when we were at the pool.
We had dinner reservations at Sci Fi but we could not imagine having to walk through DHS or back to DHS in this rain. We found a reservation at Disney Springs for the Boathouse so we picked that up but even that seemed daunting. After some serious app stalking I ended up finding us a reservation for Cape May. Perfect...under cover the whole walk there.

Day 8 continued
We were seated pretty quickly.
Bread and salad to start

From the website: Parker House Rolls and Cornbread with Roasted Garlic-Herb Butter and Cheese Spread
Seasonal House Salad: Arugula, Kale, and Romaine with Cherry Tomato, Red Onions, and Sun-dried Fruit with a Seasonal Vinaigrette
My Mom and I have often times made jokes about this restaurant and crab legs because we do not eat much/any seafood but my Dad loves seafood so we figured it was a nice balance He could eat the surf and we would eat the turf. *my Mom does eat lobster/shrimp.
Seafood Boil: PEI Mussels, Peel-n-Eat Shrimp, Cape May Clams, Sustainable Catch of the Day, Red Bliss Potatoes, and Corn on the Cobb

The Turf Platter
Slow-roasted Strip Loin with Chimichurri and House-made Steak Sauce, Oven-roasted Lemon-Pepper Chicken, Mashed Potatoes, and Farmer’s Market Vegetables

The Mac and cheese of the day was lobster Mac and cheese

Then the assortment of desserts

Yum! Everything was so good! I am actually allergic to most seafood so I can not speak to that or the Mac and cheese but my Dad and Mom said everything they ate was delicious! I would not go back to Cape May without a seafood person but it was rather enjoyable!
After this we had some hot chocolate at the Beach Club gingerbread display again and headed back to the room to relax and pack.
I finished this book - it was great!

Day 9 November 6, 2021
We got up, packed up some last minute stuff then headed down to Ale and Compass for breakfast.

We got our same old same old - American Breakfast x 2

And pancakes

After our breakfast we strolled along the Boardwalk. The sun was finally out! It was very misty still up until about 10 am this day!

Sadly we had to go home after this. We walked into a disaster in the airport. The luggage check in for Southwest went through the entire terminal. It was SO weird. Thankfully it went fairly quickly.

Anyway - that is that! Thank you for bearing with me as it took forever to write this trip report.
We had a great time and my Dad got to experience so many firsts which was awesome!

Our next trip is next month - for the Princess 10 K although we are on the fence about running it due to COVID numbers/jam packed corrals.
Speaking of on the fence I am really on the fence about writing another TR. I know I keep saying this but I feel bad because they take me forever to write and I have not even been able to read anyone else's. We are going on Year 3 of the pandemic and my work is getting worse and busier by the minute instead of better - trip reports are very time consuming and I do not know if I have it in me anymore. My Mom and I were talking about it and I have been writing them since 2014!
That being said I will still be making my YouTube videos YouTube.com/dodisney
And I will still have my Instagram d.o.disney
If anyone is looking for me you can find me there.
And ....my Mom keeps saying that me not writing Trip Reports anymore is famous last words so ....we shall see

I for one would really miss your trip reports. I don’t get to go home very often so I live vicariously through other peoples trip reports. And yours are very well done. I will have to check out your YouTube videos. Good luck in the 10k should you decide to run it.
