According to the preliminary investigation, there may have been a large fight inside the structure prior to the deaths, McClintock said. It wasn’t immediately clear what could have started the fight, or where the participants were prior to the apparent confrontation in the parking structure.
Perhaps they were arguing over which llama is better......blue or yellow.

Update on the shooting at GardenWalk. A man has been arrested and is in custody in Arizona. Great work Anaheim Police Department

The good news is that in Orange County he will still be prosecuted under the full extent of the law by the DA Todd Spitzer, and if found guilty will spend many years in prison.

But the broader issue here is if GardenWalk gets a reputation as a sketchy place to be after sundown, that's not going to help it's already shaky reputation. Nor will it help sell the Anaheim Resort District as a "World Class Resort Destination" to families. A one-off incident like this can be overcome easily, but if there's another one within the year, Anaheim is going to have a big problem on its hands.

You can't sell "Family Fun Vacation!" if you're working with a suddenly dangerous and deadly urban environment.

I am absolutely SHOCKED to hear that GardenWalk's current owners, who have such exquisite taste in design and decor and day-to-day management, can't get the rest of the hotels built.

It's only been 15 years. What's another decade or two for a World Class Resort District?

Developers at the Anaheim GardenWalk say they need more time to build two additional hotels on the property, which were promised to the city in a previous agreement.

The hotels were agreed to as part of a development agreement for the outdoor shopping and entertainment venue in Anaheim’s resort district – a development agreement gives developers certainty that their project won’t be subject to the whims of planning changes in exchange for benefits to the city.

Part of the agreement includes the construction of three hotels on the site for a total of more than 1,200 rooms. One hotel is already built and open, and the other two were supposed to have started construction by now.

I love how the rendering has all of the shops as being closed.

Holee. Mother. Of. Gawd. 😧

You have been sitting on this information for the past 10 months and you just now got around to sharing this?!?

I'm stunned, and shocked, and amused, and saddened, and bewildered. And a few other emotions too.

So the flourescent llamas were replaced by oddly artisanal (and yet mildly impressive) metal sculptures depicting, in no particular order;

Jurrasic period Tyranosaurus Rex, Velociraptors, Pterodactyls and a Triceratops, alongside modern era Zebras, Deer, Bisons, plus the National Park Service Mule that took Alice from the Brady Bunch on a tour of the Grand Canyon in Season 3?

And the OC Register has the nerve to wonder out loud why the current Garden Walk management can't get two more hotels built at this World Class Resort District complex!

WOW! Thank you!

It looks like a giraffe and elephant survived the purge. Maybe we will see the llamas in one of those Van Eaton Gallery auctions in the coming years.
