Is it abnormal for an 18 year old to love Oldies and John Denver?
If it is, count me as abnormal too (although some people, like my brother, don't need any more reasons!) I'm not 18, I'm 21, but I was raised on oldies and still really enjoy them to this day. That's one of the reasons why I love my History of Rock and Roll class! It's great to get college credit for listening to and evaluating and learning about the Beatles, Beach Boys, Motown, etc.
Christian music is very important to me too! I love Michael W. Smith. I am a Lutheran and attend church weekly, which is one of the reasons why the cp was a little hard because I often had to work sunday mornings and couldn't change my availability to have mornings off and work evenings.
I was a young adult volunteer at the LCMS national youth gathering, which was in Orlando this year. It was July 24-28 at the OCCC (all those kids running around with orange "Beyond Imagination" backpacks for anyone who was in the area during that time). I worked crowd control/usher at the mass events with all 37,000 kids and leaders in the same room (craziness at times).
I also don't feel very pretty. But, I think that is normal for most. Many people have insecurities and view themselves harsher than others. For example, I hate my curly hair, squinty/puffy eyes, and the fact that my face gets so dang shiny no matter what I do to it. I hate the way my face looks in my avatar, but I like the picture. After a day in the parks (that was at dinner) of course the T-zone was shiny, but I still hate that fact. Everyone is beautiful in their own way. Many times inner beauty shines more than outer beauty (which I think is the case in my situation).
