A strange carry on question...

Not really that strange, but would a cane be considered a carry on piece or would it be considered the "one smaller, personal-type item"?

It's not actually for mobility, it's part of my daughter's costume for the MNSSHP. Thanks for any info you can give!

Per the Air Carrier Access Act, mobility items cannot be counted toward the carry-on limit, buuuuuut......since what you are bringing on will not fall under that category, you COULD be subject to the limit, buuuuuut...... anyone that would actually try to enforce that upon you in this situation would be highly unmagical. Also, keep in mind that every paying passenger is allowed 2 items, not just adults.

You will not be charged or counted anything for a cane. Even if you don't use it. It falls under ADA exempt items. Granted, you won't be using it at the time -- but it still falls under the same exempt rules.
